Joining other DFSers.

I have found the last month a bloody tough one!

I have now dreamt about smoking every single night for a fortnight. I have a sore throat and I want to smoke but I dont know what the trigger is.

Quite fed up with the weight gain.

Arent I a little ray of bloody sunshine!

Thank you Marg.

I am actually pleased we arent going abroad this year so I can stay wrapped up here!!

I am trying to be positive.

Poor Mr Spyro is in France at the moment and smoking is pretty much everywhere he goes and he is finding it twice as tough.

Hi Nog,

Time to work on strengthening the mindset, stop fixating on the smokes and concentrate on freedom you have regained. The more you acknowledge the feelings and dwell on them the stronger they get. Focusing on the positives helps you let go of the idea that you are somehow depriving yourself.

We all spent many years smoking and it would be incredible if we could shake the feelings in just a few months, but in reality its a journey with good points and bad. You are doing great and in time, with practice living as a non smoker will be totally normal.

Well done on getting this far stay strong and I'll see you in the penthouse next February.

All the best

Nic

Quite fed up with the weight gain.

You and me both!!

Actually it is helping me to stay off the ciggies though because I know that even if I started smoking again (which I am damn sure I won't!) then I'd be fat and a smoker. At least I am just fat at the moment!

I am determined to do something about it this summer though - I need to get my bike out and cut down on the huge portions I eat for dinner!

We need a weight - loss forum!

Hey Dragon.... sorry last month was a bit tough BUT huge congrats to you for making it to this next big milestone! 5 months done is great! I have my lows as well..... still have not had a single day I don't think of fags but I have accepted that for me it will just take more time. Read up again and boost your resolve..... maybe post more for a bit to remind yourself of all the great gains..... Don't romanticize smoking..... remember smoking is a big pain and you're not missing out at all..... I have noticed that I have more thoughts of fags in patches.... I bet in a couple of days you snap out of it! Just hang in there! Big Hug!
