Ok, so now I've achieved the stopping smoking (I really feel like Ive cracked it now) I need a new challange, this time its stopping being a fat git (seriously starting to get tubby now).

So Im giving up alcohol and full fat milk and various other naughty things and starting a regime of excercise.

If anyone has any good tips for getting into shape Id love to hear them!

Its really body tone I need now I think, and to loose the tubby tummy.

Eat less and move more :)

Find a sport or physical activity that you enjoy and look forward to, don't try to push yourself to do something that you dislike. As eventually you'll not bother with it.

All the best

As Nic says, if theres an activity you like (or used to like before smoking robbed you of your energy), do that.

Eat better, or less and move around more.

You will get back in shape amazingly quickly.

I got a bit lardy too after quitting, and I used to love cycling.

So, my not smoking reward at 5 months was a new bike. I hadn't ridden for 4 years or more - I started training and less than 4 months later was fit enough to do a 100 mile ride for charity.

And because I like it, I actually look forward to the exertion of 30-50 miles 2 or 3 times a week - it's fantastic feeling fit again.

Stu and Nic, good advice both. I agree it definetly has to be something you enjoy. Im lucky enough to live by the seaside so am having a dip in the sea on a regular basis now. I also like to walk so have just spent a rather large amount of money on some proper walking boots.

Marg I'll definetly let you know if I get any tips myself ! One thing I have taken too is fizzy water, its much healthier than a fizzy pop but it has no calories in and is good for you. Im drinking that more than tea and coffee at the moment, expecially during the hot weather.
