Let me just say.....THANK YOU....to all of YOU.

I have received more strength and perseverance from this forum than anything in my life right now.

I'm 37, have been at least a pack a day smoker for the past 15 years. My addiction has been upwards of two packs a day for the last year. I have quit temporarily many times in the past.

This is my first attempt at cold turkey....I'm on day EIGHT. I have to tell you, thank you for everyone's input on this forum, it has been my guiding light when times have been tough. I find myself following along the experiences of others as I reach a new milestone each day.

It has not been easy. I have Nicorette on standby, but haven't used it yet. I ordered some non-tobacco, non-nicotine cigarettes, but they haven't arrived in the mail yet. My saving grace has been you all.

I cry and cry and laugh at times at the journey we are all undergoing. Today was particularly tough, but I have made it through with your support.

Thank you.

Hi Johnny :)

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Well done you on day 8 that's great just hang in there

As you've gone C T although you have nicorette on standby please try not to use it now as you would be putting nicotine back in your system again which I'm sure you won't want to do anyway

I'm sorry yesteday was tough for you but you got through it there may be some tough days ahead but having got through it once you'll find each one gets a little easier as you get stronger

Love

Jonny well done on getting to day 8 :) Keep going, it does get easier. It's not got easy as quickly as I would have liked, but by tiny degrees each day is slightly easier than the previous one.

I need this forum too! Even if I don't post that much, just coming on here and reading a bit, plus looking at the Why Quit site, really helps strenghtne my resolve. Thank you all :) I am now on day 20 and this morning I didn't crave a smoke at all.
