Day 7 help.....

Hi,

Just about to break into day 7 and really, really struggling.

I am at work and things are not going to plan - at all.

Things aren't working, people not being helpful.

And I've just had one collegue say 'Oh Lisa needs a fag', right that is really not helping my quit.

I don't want to cave - but in the same respect I don't want to get the sack because I've killed someone!!

I just feel so angry.

Help!!!!!

Hi Lisa :D

Sorry to hear you're struggling a bit on day 7 but by tonight that's the first week done and dusted for you

You're doing great just hang in there, soon it will start to get easier for you

It's normal to feel angry at this stage of a quit and that colleague of yours is just ignorant at best

Please try to ignore these sort of people not easy I know

Maybe you could take a walk when you get a break or at lunch time that could well help you through this or just do something [ anything] to keep your mind occupied with other thoughts and things

Another thing that might help is to buy a little treat for yourself doesn't matter what it used to help me

Love

just take some deep breaths.... do u think if you go out and smoke the day is going to get any better???? probably not your end up regretting it and probably feel alot worse... plus dont give your collegue any reason to gloat...

tomorrow is a new day and your have a little confident boost that although you have had the day from hell you kept strong...

you can do it.. and you can also pop on here for 5 mins and let all your anger out.... we will listen :) xxx

What an evil cow!!! Ignore her, you're doing great! These cravings get weaker and weaker, you've already got to day 7 so keep going. I know it's hard, but it's not impossible.

Ok we'll get her for u

Just let us know her address and we'll sort her out;)

Seven whole days of choosing not to smoke, just picture how u would feel if u let this cow be the one who made u go back.

Eat, drink and be merry.

GIV HER EVILS

Hi Lisa,

The above really made me laugh, naughty Chrissie ;)

Some people just need a good slap, they are either trying to be funny or have a nasty streak, whatever, just ignore them. Your better then them :D

Deep breaths, drink water, go for a walk, a natter with another collegue. A cigie won't make it any better, we know that so do your best to take your mind of it.

Keep strong.

Thank you all for your words and advice.

I didn't cave - Yay!!!

I took Marg's advice and as we speak I am happily munching on a magnum classic ice cream (sod the waistline - the important thing is I DIDN'T SMOKE!!!)

Feel a lot better now.

Thank you so much guys

And you are right, if I had smoked a cigarette it would not have made a blind bit of difference - except to make me feel really bad about myself.

Am so chuffed, this has been the first 'real' testing time, and with your help I've got through it!

Thanks again

To a smoke free life!!

xx

Good for you Lisa.

Each time you beat a crave like this you will be stronger and better equipped for the next time.

It will get easier, so stay strong and you will beat this.

Off to get a Magnum myself now! :D
