Not feeling great today but I think that might be because I have gone from the 24hr 21mg patch to the 16hr 15mg, I really feel like I need a cig right now  but I wont, I am determined to make it through the day

Hello there. I'm on patches as well and am about to start cutting down on them but I'm at almost two weeks. I guess you also want to be free and clear of the nicotine but isn't four days a bit too short to get over the main hump of smoking? The recommended time is three weeks on the 21mg but that's just cos they want your money ;) Two weeks seems right for me couldn't imagine doing it on day 4 though, I was still just getting my head round quitting at that point. Anyhoo good luck with your quit and I hope it goes well today, find something to do.. anything :D cleaning and cooking works for me.

Yep, thats what I did as per Mr Bs advice. Worked a treat for me and I would advise you think about using his method. I found it less harsh. Good luck!

Thanks for that, I will go back to the 21mg and use this method. It just feels so hard today after having 3 pretty easy days. At the moment I am thinking what is the point if it makes me feel this bad and what if it doesn't get any easier and i will always feel like this.

Patches

Hi Tina,

I used patches as well & I know how tempting it is to try & come off them before you really should.

I was on 21mg patches for 3 weeks then went down to 14mg for 3 weeks. I decided myself to stop them then even though my nurse advised another week on those & a month on the 7mg.

The short of it is that I wanted to be free of them & thought I would give it a go. Am 4 days in to no patches & feel ok.

I would say 4 days is to early. Be kind to yourself, you are doing a fantastic thing not smoking but the decision has to be yours :)

Hi Tina :D

Sorry you're finding it tough today but it's very early days for you after all

The point is that it will improve your health and free you from a powerful and I'm sure unwated addiction as well as many more benefits quitting can only be good even though it's hard for you just now

It will get much easier for you as well Promise and you'll feel great just hang in there

Listen to what the others are telling you I know next to nothing about patches but lots on here do

Also check out that link from B B {Jim] and do as he suggests he is our resident expert on them

Love

Hiya Tina. Sorry you're feeling a bit rough. Were you ready to start the cutting down process? Don't try to cut down too quickly, no matter what the previous posters have said, you'll know when you're ready, Better to go a bit longer than start smoking again. David
