Day 1 for me too!

Hi everybody

This is my first day.

I want to quit for over a year now, and it's getting time i leave this nasty habit behind.

I smoked for +/-15 years, and it's the thing i most regret in my life.

My fears are: how to deal with it emotionally. Specially when i feel down or more stressed, i always had a smoke...and now i have no clue how will i substitute that.

Anyway, it seems somehow easier being registered in the forum, and read about each others experiences.

Kind regards to everyone

Dalma

Hi Dalma :D

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good

You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be

Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK

Hi Dalma welcome to the forum and quitting the cigs. It is a learning process dealing with daily life without the cigs. I am a very emotional stressy person or should I say I was. After the first 3 or 4 weeks I have found myself in situations where normally I would have been in a right state but I seem to deal with things a lot better than I used to, I never believed them when they used to say that cig caused you stress but I do now. Not saying that I dont have the odd rant or cry but it is never as bad as it used to be. Just believe in yourself that you will be able to cope, get over the first few hurdles and you will know what I mean and you will never want to go back ;)
