like the title says...i quit smoking/alcohol/caffeine all cold turkey and at the same time, for the past 2 weeks i have been dealing with allergy type symptoms like itchy eyes/mouth/ears and sneezing, and this morning woke up with a sore throat!!!
right now both nostrils are plugged up like i've never felt before(sucks)...
should i not be feeling a little better? i do have more energy though, during the day...and i'm starting too sleep better at nights(thank GOD)..
COULD THIS STILL BE ME DETOXING???
THANKS

Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Great going on day 37 but sorry to hear that you feel so grotty at the moment
While this is all most probably part of the grit as you say you have more energy by day and are sleeping better it could well be that your body is still adjusting and getting rid of toxins, we all heal at different rates after all as we're all different I myself at just over 7 months still have the odd day where I feel really tired
But if you continue to feel like this why not visit your Dr to set your mind at rest, it could be an allergy thing which was masked before by you smoking and if that's the case you could certainly get some help for it I hope that helps and that you feel better very soon
Post often to let us know how you're doing, to rant, rave have a moan whatever you like pretty much anything goes on here OK
It could be you detoxing or it may be just a little hay fever or a summer cold. i think i tend to blame everything on my quitting smoking and sometimes i forget that even whilst i smoked i had grumpy days days with sore throats days just generally feeling sluggish.
boost your self up with some vitamins and whether smoking or otherwise you will get over it eventually, the main thing is to not let your brain trick you into thinking that if you go back smoking all will be ok
B****y well done you for giving up all the things I certainly rely on to get through life.
I am afraid I have just given up the smoking but ideally I would like to have done what you have.
Given all the things your body is not getting it is not suprising you feel under the weather plus as Forest said this time of year, pollens etc, can give us symptons as well.
You will get through this & will have acheived something incredible.
The odd thing is that i have never had any type of allergy before!
and dont you have a runny nose when dealing with hay fever?
i don't know but it really sucks:confused:
hopefully it will pass soon?
Not always. I am mostly ok these gays as far as hayfever goes, but occasionally get sore eyes or stuffy nose. I get a sore throat when I wake uo after a night of drinking wine. No fags to go with it now so not figured that one out. My nose has been stuffy again the last week so put that down to hayfever, who knows??!!
I just think, hey my body has had all this s**t forced into it for 30 odd years, it ain't gonna go away over night!!

You have given up a great deal by giving up smoking!!! i had to quit the Beers as well because in my case they go hand in hand...so i said F%#K it,i might as well quit drinking coffee and sodas as well...
It's not that difficult really!! if you can quit smoking, then you can kick other
Your probably right, giving up drinking will be my hardest I have to say. I only usually drink on a Friday night after a s**t week at work which they always are. My problem is at my grand old age of starting but not stopping, but that's another story hey!!!
You keep going with your quit. My feeling is now that the next cig will be the one that kills me & leaves my wonderful hubby & more imprortantly my 2 Beautiful sons without a mum.
Hi Steve, hope you are feeling better? Im on day 35 but also on antibiotics as i have chest infection. Had similar symptoms to you but then went downhill so maybe a visit to GP might be in order. Just a thought......
Yeah my Ears/eyes feel alot better but im in the midst of a freakin chest cold type of deal i think
My voice sounds like i drank 5 bottles of Whiskey...super hoarse!!
went and got some tea for it today but i still feel like super spacey in the head and my chest feels congested...so im not sure if its my body cleansing itself or an actual cold?? i have been using my neti pod for my nose and it feels 1000 times better
right now i couldnt care more because all i want is too feel better...this is getting old!!
