So i'm on to day 5, day 4 was a bit of a pain i almost gave in i had a cry yesterday because everything just got on top of me and when that normaly happens i have a fag but not this time! I did it without one and feel so much better for it the cravings seem to be getting a little less each day but sometimes i don't notice it and it feels like day 1 again but i'm guessing they will get better more everyday :D Hope everyone is well

Hi Ozzy,

Well done on being on Day 5. Getting through those first few days is so important. And the only way to Day 6 is right through Day 5!

The craves do ease up. Each time you get through one it gives you more strength for the next.

Stay stong.

Hi Austyn :D

Well done you on day 5 that's great hope you're proud of yourself

Also well done beating of the craves yesterday with each one you beat you'll get a little stronger and they'll become a little easier to beat as well

Just hang in there and before you know it you'll be counting weeks not days

Love

aaaawww man I hate saying this because u are doing well, but cold turkey DOES NOT work!! I dont mean to start a war but I know form awful experiences going CT that it is the most terrible way to even attempt to give up smoking. My preference would have been CT but I just couldnt do it..I have been reading this forum for a few weeks now and the amount of people going back to day 1 because they have tried CT is amazing. If you are in the UK use the NHS to stop, they will help you all the way, you do not have to suffer the hell of CT...this is just my opinion...

You didn't want to start a war so you post that anyway knowing damn well it was going to, good idea.

Yeah just your opinion, so there for how do you know it don't work? Have you asked every smoker who's gone cold turkey? I didn't think so.. Just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean its not going to work for me or anyone else..

Just takes a little will power that's all if you have none then of course its not going to work.. Just because other people have gone back to day one doesn't mean I'm going to. But thanks for the encouragement I'll be sure to look out for your threads and start posting on them "It doesn't work" Your going to go back to day one.

Maybe my view on the NHS is different to yours I could go on about how I have seen so many post about Champix and the side affects it gives you, making people having to stop with the treatment because of that very reason and going back to day 1.

Feeling awful for a few weeks because of going cold turkey is nothing really if you have the will power it gets it over and done with faster then any other method. But like I said thanks for the encouragement, if my posts are going to get replys like this then I shant bother posting how I feel from now on. Thanks.

Hi Austyn and any other CT quitters :D

Please take no notice of this sort of post we all quit with whatever suits us best, NRT CT Chamoix whatever if it works for you that's all that matters

Don't stop posting because of something like this, it happens from time to time unfortunately

It's best ignored if possible

You're doing just fine and lots of people on here have successfully quit CT and I for one admire those that do

Day 4 DRAMA!

Also had a major drama yesterday and would like some advice on whether or not it could be linked to withdrawals. Went out for a meal with a friend and reacted quite badly to a few remarks, seemed to be quite sensitive, insecure and downright paranoid. Then I went home I just burst into tears and sounded like I was having a panic attack. Is this normal?

I am now on day 4! I didn't cave in and I actually feel pretty good today.

Yours thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers for the guilt trip ozzy, I am allowed to have an opinion because I have tried to quit smoking dozens of times CT and it hasnt worked for me. I sincerely hope it does work for you but your ignorant attitude makes me think you are destined to fail. If you dont like the replys you get perhaps it might be best if you dont post anymore..

I will apologize now for my last post I was slightly wound up reading this thread. I will be leaving the forum shortly, I am over 50 days in and instead of helping me I think it is hindering my progress. I am getting more and more wound up by some of the posts. Ozzy this is nothing personal against you and I sincerely wish you well with your quit. Touch wood I will never be at day one again. To everyone else who has helped me thank you it has been a pleasure.

Your welcome for the guilt trip. ;) And your welcome to have a "opinion" just like I am. I'm guessing your stressed out because your off the smokes so your looking for someone to take it out on. Yeah I have a ignorant attitude its me who go's around posting on other peoples threads saying "It doesn't work" You will fail! If I don't like the reply's I'm going to post back and tell you why I don't like them after all this is a "discussion board."

Like I said in my last post just because CT didn't work for you doesn't mean its not going to work for me its not my problem you have no will power and give in so easy. I understand you might be a little discombobulated because you are off the fags but there is no need to take it out on people who are just looking for a bit of support on a forum. ;)

Just got in from work Becky and no-one has bothered to answer you, too busy bickering. If it isn't normal behaviour for you Becky then it must be the rubbish coming out of your system, you are feeling better today so get a few more days in and it WILL get better. David

Don't take the reactions too personal!! You may not know of past dramas on here and people may still be touchy feely to certain statements and opinions. I have had plenty of challenges and the forum has ALWAYS helped me calm down..... especially early on in a quit people can get a bit easily ruffled too so I am sure no one meant any harm! Keep sticking around is my point :)

Hi Becky :D

Sorry to be so late with this, but had a friend over so haven't been on since early morning

This is perfectly normal at the start of a quit Ok don't worry about it, if you think you upset your friend explain to her why it happened, I'm sure she/he will understand and feeling like this won't last for very long

Well done on day 4 you're doing just fine keep it up
