I felt like this, but just after 3 days.... it was horrendous...and I sat and thought " oh god I just need one...." and everyone I spoke to really didn't know what I was going through (( oh so I convinced myself )) ..... I sat and cried, and I mean really cried, I think it was out of frustration more than anything.

I didn't have that cig...and now I'm 2 month quit and sooooo glad I didn't, cos I went to bed and got up next day in a totally different frame of mind.

Just tell yourself that you have come this far and no-way are you going back to day one!!! Them days are over...... get a pint of water, sip sip sip sip all night if you have to...its better than a cancer stick, go to bed...and tomoz is a whole brand new no smoke..better smelling day!!!

good on ya xxx

NOOOOOOO. go for a walk round and round the block till the cravings pass.........no... no... no... dring gallons of water, go for a bath do something, anything to take your mind of those horrible cravings - think of all you'de be undoing, having to start at day 1 again

Well you can't smoke until at least 5 people reply! It's late already so just forget about it tonight!! Maybe take a long hot shower and recite all the great benefits and gains from quitting??? You are craving nicotine and yes... it sucks BUT stick out the tough times and it gets better and actually very easy to resist.... you're in the middle of it and I'm sorry your having a tough night...... keep reading to get the right frame of mind..... breathe deep...... you can do this!!! Hang in there :)

If you cave you KNOW you will want to quit again at some point and then you'll have to do this AGAIN..... so keep going, stay positive, remind yourself of the freedom that will soon be yours!!

Ops.... its only 9pm..... (I'm on US time!) you actually have to wait until at least 10 people reply to your post ;) Stay calm..... you'll feel better soon :)

Hi,

Really glad you posted on here before doing anything you might regret. I reckon that's a good way to start dealing with a crave.

Don't put yourself through those first two weeks again. You've come a long way in a short time, but those craves will still sneak in and grab you when you're least ready for them. Stay strong, drink some water, and take it one minute at a time. The crave will pass, they always do, and then you'll be stronger for the next time.

this doesn't count as one of the 10 replies you need to get as I've already replied, ;) how you doing now?

but I just wondered does any one know why, if the nicotine is out of our system after only a few days then why do we still get these godam, god awful, mind blowing, cravings

NO NO NO

You don't want that fag you only think you do because of those sneaky little B.........d Nico  Demons they're up to their tricks again, go do something, drink water, take a walk anything, even go to bed early, just DON'T SMOKE and let them win OK

They're desperate to get you back in their power again, you've starved them for almost 3 weeks now just continue doing just that and win this battle, and finally the war that we all must fight to be free

It really will get eaier and easier every time you fight them off I Promise

Hang in there you'll feel so much better tomorrow Promise

Love

Repeats don't add into the 10 by the way!! :D

Totally forgot!!! The evil 3's!! Day 3, week 3, and month 3!!! It's actually very common to struggle like this around the time of your quit! You are sooooooo close to when things really start to become much, much easier.... around day 28 is when it got way easier for me..... come on.... a whole 2 weeks.... you don't want to do them again!!!!

Hi Gaynor

I'm sorry you slipped tonight but now

Pick yourself up, dust yourself down and carry on with your quit you can and will do it

I'm really pleased you didn't enjoy it by the way, as you're very unlikely to do it again

You have a choice to make now..... go back to smoking or stick with your quit..... I had a cave at 10 days and smoked 1 1/2 fags... they were nasty luckily and I chose the latter..... you may get a few extra craves but it beats starting with day 1..... I gets easier I promise you....

Hi Gaynor

What happened to you, so sorry, at least you say it was awful and you are going to carry on with your quit. If you are struggling try reading some stuff on whyquit.com and woofmang.com. Hope this helps and you will stay strong. Knowing health is a problem can strangely keep us hooked like a crutch but knowing health is a problem when it is not showing too badly has to be addressed as it will get so much worse. I know this is true and it can happen quickly, we don't always get years of warning, don't wait until it is too late to be active.

Looking our for you.

Jackie

When that happened to me a few weeks ago it changed my outlook and now I feel fine. You will be stronger now I am sure :)

Back on track

Evening everybody. Thanks so much for all your messages. I am such a twit!!! Am determined to stay stopped & am not gonna give in because of one 'mistake'. As you said Jackie my health is more important & who knows when my chest would suddenly become much worse. Can't afford to take this risk. So onwards & upwards guys :D Gaynor xxx
