day 4....

 The hardest part is the habit. What else can i do? i keep busying myself, but really i just want to crash on the sofa and feel relaxed. I feel mentally drained, totally emotional. I cried all last night for no reason, i dont want a ciggerette, i really dont. Im not crying because i want one, im crying because i feel so tired!

My family think its funny, they think the answer is to smoke..... lack of support or what?...."just have a ciggy will ya"! So i have stopped going to see them now! just in the meantime whilst i fight this battle, that i feel im loosing! My boyfriend is fantastic thou, thinking himself about giving up. There are no longer ciggerettes in the house, he keeps them in the car. He smokes outside, or in the kitchen with the door open. He is really proud of me!

Every morning i cross another day off my calender, which is attached to the fridge, with a smily/sad face depending on how i felt! This morning i feel sad, later on? i aim to be happy! I am going to give up smoking, 4 days is just too good to fall! Im pleased with my progress! I WILL do this. I just dont want to loose who i am in the process xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi there,

keep it up...........you can do it, you don't need a fag.

I am on day 6, and have had the worst 2 to 3 days so far, Sun was a nightmare, I was a nightmare, Mon was bit better and today is even a little better, but when those urges to smoke come on it's horrible, feel as if my world is coming down around me, but the urge only lasts a short while. I found keeping busy helps and writing down why I wan to stop helps and when the urges are VERY strong I come on this forum and read how other people are having the same problems, just take it in small steps, I know how you feel but have been reassured on here that as the days go on it gets easier :eek :) :D ;)

Hi,

Have to keep positive otherwise I'd cave...........as I nearly did on sunday. Am not craving choc just food in general but then there's the fag after food:eek: Am ok today cause am at work and everyone in office is very supportive I find it MUCH harder at home. Are you going cold turkey? I'm on Champix and don't think I could have got this far without them. KEEP BUSY and drink gallons of water, someone on here told me that and it works honestly

PS forgot to put this link in

quitsmokingonline.com

which is called 'quit smoking online.com'

I find it helps a lot - also, it's very long so keeps you occupied

Hi Laurajayne,

Well done on getting through the first three days.

Breaking the habit part is really tough. Are you going cold turkey? If so the nicotine is out of your system after 3 days, and that is a lot of the toughest part dealt with. Then it's the psychological thing. There will be bad times occasionally so you need to learn how to overcome them.

Do all you can to learn about your addiction, and it will help equip you to fight it, and you will succeed.

Have you looked at whyquit.com and woofmang.com - lots of good stuff there.

Keep strong.

Deke

Hi deke, thanks for those websites gonna look thru them now!

Kate im using patches, ive learned there not the best, from people on this website, but if i take it off now i will panic. I think its working, so i darent stop now! they take the edge off slightly, im off work today, so its a bit difficult! Im just reading things on the internet about smoking, so i feel semi relaxed now. Might have some fruit! I dont really mind if i put weight on quitting, its worth it for my health. Plus, i will be able to breath properly and excersise better in the long run! im starting to feel better now.... thank you for being so kind and supportive!xxxxxxxx
