Started my 3rd calendar month yesterday so guess I can say I'm 2 months clear of nicotine.

Feels well wierd to be saying I'm in month 3 and also as i use the gum i am probably not honest when i say ncotine free? Still it's gotta be better than smoking fags............thing is i'l prob have a battle giving up the gum now !!

Not smoking a cig, that's the main thing. It would be good to get rid of the gum too, when you're ready, just never put another cig in your mouth.

Ys I know i must get this gum problem sorted but at the moment it really really keeps me sane and i don't know how i'd cope without it. I'v had some good times during the quit but i can honestly say iv struggled a lot as well and i wonder without the gum wld i be smoking again ?

I went CT because I didn't think I could cope with giving up in stages. Some people have strong feelings about method, but as far as I'm concerned, it's whatever works for each individual and I would not want to come across as preaching to anyone. I guess though that if I was asked for advice then I would definitely recommend CT.

You've proved that you can make the most important step, so you have plenty to feel pretty good about. And yes, the support from everyone here has been hugely instrumental in me keeping off the fags. Keep strong.

i defo agree with going c.t ive tried it with nicotine replacement and just had fags so i went c.t but i cant say i would defo recommend it its really tough, and sometimes its wise to have something to take the edge off. just ask my poor son, but his proud of his mummy for quiting. im 9 weeks smoke free.
