I have been reading everyone's posts throughout my quit, and thought I would add one of my own.
It will be 5 week's on Monday since I last smoked, and it feels really good that I have managed it. I used patches for the first 3 weeks, but have been nicotine free for the last week or so. I never thought I would get this far but have been reading why quit.com and the memorial page is enough to put you off for life!! Whenever I have a weak moment I think I do not want to go through what they have been through.
Any way good luck everyone, reading all your posts has really helped me and I am going to recommend this site to all of my still smoking friends!!!!

Well done you, thats fantastic, i am on day two with patches, gym has been joined and i'm trying to adopt a positive mental attitude... its killing me!!!!!
I am sure this may sound v shallow but have you found weight gain an issue?? The patches are doing a good job for me as i was finding it really hard yesterday for a couple of hours and nearly smoked, after beating myself up... well... giving my self a telling off... i realised the patch had come off!! so i whacked on another one and fely better.
Hope you are well and well done you for being nicotine free!!!

Sorry Jenna, we must have posted at the same time, well done to you too on your 2 days, it will soon add up, and before you know it you'll be counting in weeks then months. David
I haven't found weight gain an issue at the moment, I have been making sure that I take the dog out for extra walks!!! I have noticed my appetite has shot through the roof so am worried about putting on weight, but I have given my bike a dusting down and will try to do a bit of bike riding to keep it under control.
Thanks for yoyr replies, and good luck to both of you, you will have hard days but if you are determined you will do it!!

Ahh, thankyou Marge, that was just what i needed to hear!!
Was just going to log out as i'm getting a bit lost on here, dont know how it works at all!! and thankyou David, i can do it, i know i can. This is all about a change of lifestyle. I've been in recovery now for 3 and a half years from drink and drug addiction, this is my last crutch that i dont wanna lean on anymore!!! I think i may be a little reminded of getting sober, the first few days are the hardest. If i can beat that with my higher power, i can beat this too
Its so great to know there is people who you can talk to
wow, Marg, just been reading those links, that Joel dude is a guru!! thankyou for the advice, i'll keep reading. To be honest i'd read the back of a cornflake box right now if i thought it would help
Glad you're finding it useful already, read as much as you can it really will help you
As for finding your way around just keep looking and if you don't understand something just ask, someone will pop along with the answer or suggest someone who may know OK
With all the stuff on here and in the links I don't think you'll be reduced to reading the back of a Cornflake box just yet anyway HA HA
