Hello my name is Jamie, and i'm only 15.. I know very young.
I've been smoking since 2 weeks before my 14th birthday,
Because most of the people I was around were all smokers and so is my mum.
And now i really really want to quit because I want to have Physcial Education General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) i don't want to tire out after 5 minute run, and I want to get a good mark to be a Pe teacher one day. I been playing rugby for my school, town and at home. Also i really enjoy Cross Country's ever so much, I feel like I want to run all day.. but i can't last 2 hours because I've started smoking..
Well that is my dreams. oh..I feel soo terrible for smoking at such a young age.
Please don't hate me for smoking right now.
My last fag was earlier at around 4:50pm and hopefully it will be my last for a while.
I've tried quitting many times before but it just builds up inside of me and then i start go all moody and getting detentions..

I really hope you make your dreams come true and of course we don't hate you for smoking it's a pity that you do but it is also a pity that any of us did you have a very good reason to stop [your dreams] most of us have tried before and failed but I know you can do this and think of the example you will be setting your Mum,you have already taken that first all important step
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad

Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
You will be a NON SMOKER from the moment you put out that last fag
Post often to let us know how you're getting on for help/support, to have a rant whatever pretty much anything is OK on here
Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do to make the most of your life. I and many here spent decades spending vast sums of money to poison ourselves, how stupid!! Don't repeat our mistake, do this for yourself now and you will reap the rewards.
Congratulations on making the decision to quit and good luck. I'm sure you won't need it if you focus on your dreams to run. Just keep thinking about that each time you have a craving.
We are all here to give you support, so you are not alone.
Just keep thinking of your dream of running.
Have a read of the web links that Marg and Nic have. They helped me and alot of people on here.
If you feel you are getting moody  just log in and post how you feel here. It helps to get it all of your chest and you will feel alot better after it.
When i was 15, ( oh no not that old saying "when i was a lad" lol.)
I used to run for my school and my county everything from 100 meters to cross country, i ran the 100 meters in 10.8 seconds, a second of the world record at the time, Then i started hanging around with groups of people that smoked, as you never like to be the odd one out.
Well that was the worst thing i did because i never ran a race again.
In the end i was smoking nearly 40 a day, I stoped smoking 3 months ago and so glad i did.
What i am saying Jamie is that if i could turn back time i would never of touched a fag because it cut short a promising career in sport.
so keep going and think which is best , out of breath at 40 . or a career in sport.
Well done Jamie on making this decision, At 15 most of us that had started smoking wouldnt have realised the effect it would have on the rest of lives until one day you do realise that its got hold of you, and you have already wasted that time smoking for nothing. You have realised this while you are still young, reading up on here and seeing all these people that have smoked for a very long time and gained no benefits whatsoever form doing it will be a great source of strength for you, keep your mind focused on your dreams and we will be here when it gets tough, keep posting on here and everyone is great at offering you support and advice.
Hi Jamie, kick it now. I'm in a similar position with the difference that I have years and years to look back on and regret every day of them. You don't want to be in this position, believe me.
Well done for havung the courage to join the forum and to quit.. How many of us would like to be 15 again and have such a strong positive ambitious attitude.
You CAN do whatever you want and have your whole future ahead of you with thoughts and ambitions too and you also have choice so use that choice now and join us all. I'm only on day 10 and mighty proud of myself for getting the nicotine out of my system. good luck mate xx
You have had the courage to join this firum, and I am sure you have the willpower to get you through quitting.
How was your first day?
I , like many others, started smoking at 14/15, and wish i had seen sense and quit much earlier. i am 40 now, and have children your age and over- and I have wasted too much of my life smoking and wasting my money!
Just think.. in the summer you could go to a festival/concert with your saved ciggy money!
Do your friends smoke? it can be hard being part of a crowd, especially if they offer you a smoke- stay strong!
remember also, there is a Quit helpline on the NHS site that may help, and read the info in peoples links
Plus.. maybe talking to a form tutor/someone from pastoral care/ student welfare may offer you support too?
I'm sure your tutor would be very happy to hear how you are doing [ I used to teach.. and it would have made me proud of one of my students!]
Keep at it, don't let others tempt you- and realise your dream of your sporting career... you ahve a goal, a focus, and you can reach it
