I had my last ciggie about 11.30 last night and so far this morning haven't had any major attack of withdrawal (which I think is made worse if you consciously think about stopping). Anyhoo ..... time will tell .... good luck to everyone else today .... be well.

I've been concentrating fully on work here, I usually have a cig before I start and then one around 10.30. I just blasted through work and never thought about them! I'm off to the gym at 1pm so thatshould help any naughty thought of tobacco

As I say, I am very very grateful for the virtual support! Especially as I'm not taking any NRT, this is going to be sheer will-power! I know that may seem a bit risky, but I'm of the opinion that if I want this crap out of my body, then I do it completely and do it now!
I know what you mean. I didn't come across this site until my 9th day. That evening I sat down and went through the web links that Marg had given to me and I was that inspired that I pulled my patch off. I found that I was only delaying the effects and that weather its 9 days or 9 weeks, I still have to go through withdrawals when I stop using the patch.
So I said what the hell and pulled the patch off and said to myself I would rather go through nicotine withdrawal now when I am in the zone, rather that 9 weeks when maybe I feel that I depend on it and do you know its been the best decision I ever made.
I truly agree eileen! Pulled mine off three weeks ago. If i'd have found this site first I would not have used them from the start. As it was, after three weeks i had to mentally find the zone again. I would say that not using any patches and using this forum and reading the links that marg put on is the least risky and most positive method!!! Well done you and stevie!!
I too have gone Ct Done patches once for the full 12 weeks. i think what ever work for you to make the quit easyer then go for it. In my case I found Cold turkey much easyer But each to there own. Good luck all day one is slowly coming to an end Very well done.xxxxx

well I've only got 45 minutes left before I finish work and head home! It's been a struggle not falling back into the routine of having lunch then nipping out into the carpark for a puff! But you know what I notice most? The smell from my hands, I can still smell the shower gel from the gym at lunchtime. I smell Comfort off my shirt instead of smoke. It's great!
Thanks to all who gave me supportive words and also to all the newbies ... We can do it boys and girls!!!!!!
