Hello.

What's your story then ?

Hi BibleBlack,

I'm a 33 yo male. Started smoking at 18 (casual smoker for a few years).

Then I went up to chain smoker from around 23 to about 5 years ago.

I tried before to quit, but I'm not giving anyone any news when I say it's hard...

My personal best was 4 months off cigs.

Hi Freshlung!

Welcome and well done on deciding to quit.

I am at the 6 week mark and have gone cold turkey. I am so glad I did. I feel great as a non-smoker. And yes I have found it tough but not so tough I can't handle it.

You can do it too - read lots and get to know your enemy!

Hi, Fresh Lung, and welcome to the forum. I quit CT a little over a month ago. After reading comments in forum, I really think you will have an easier time by going CT. It really is a lot easier than you think. Staying off cigs maybe harder than the actual quit. Just keep reading and saying to yourself - "Not even one puff!" But, if you feel the need for extra help from the gum or patches, go for it. Whatever works for you is what is best.

Quit: Jan. 18, 2009

Method: CT
