Issy babes

Very well done on your quit so far you are doing fab. Wish I had stopped when I was young started smoking age 17 now 52 and the money I have spent on stinking fags you woulnt like to know. Please dont get patches or any other NRT all the nicotine is well out of your body now dont put any back in. Maybe ask your mum to get you some herbel sleeping tablets till things improve. Please keep posting and let us know how your doing. Linda xxxx

Hi Emma well done on reaching week 3, I too look forward to something after tea, usually a galaxy ripple or 2:D.

hi!

i am on my 17th day of going cold turkey...

i actually can't sleep!

so not only am i putting on weight there are huge bags under my eyes.

this is my third night of not being able to get to sleep, and i was seriously starting to wonder whether or not quitting was worth it... i mean, i am 14, i have coursework to do and school in the mornings and i need to concentrate! i am taking my science GCSE's early and falling asleep in Biology does not bid well.

BUT then i found this website tonight and seeing everyone else quit after years of smoking makes me feel quite humble, so i SHALL continue to quit...

maybe try some patches or something??

Issy

Hi Issy, jeez you're young and obviously very smart realising you have to quit, I wish you all the best with quitting and your exams:D.

Hi Issy Knight

Very well done on 17 days quit you are doing brilliantly You will find plenty of help and support on here

I don't actually think patches or similar would help you sleep and you would be putting nicotine back in your body which you do not have now you already got rid of that after 3 days

What may help but because you are very young talk to your Mum first is Nytol or Kalms either should help back to a natural sleep rhythm are herbal and non addictive, they can be bought over the counter

Good Luck both with ypur exams and your quit

Hi Emma,

I am exactly the same, like something is missing and you have to reward yourself with chocolate, but then chocolate makes me want to smoke! I was thinking of trying to start a healthy eating plan as if we can have the will power to give up smoking we can have it to diet...no stopping us now!!!

Issy, that sounds great, maybe get some valeria herbal sleeping tablets they have worked for me in the past, well done!!

Hi

I've given up & started healthy eating as well. To be honest, I never ate properly when I smoked. Breakfast was a cup of tea & a couple of fags etc. Now I have tea with toast & manuka honey (expensive but full of healing properties apparently) & hey, I can afford it the money I'm saving :) I've also started taking vitamins, Selenium to help my body repair itself, naval oranges, blueberries with natural yoghurt. The list goes on. I'm sitting here now with a bowl of Green Giant soup as it's one of my five a day lol

It helps me, it's a life style change. So what if I put on a bit of weight the energy I'm going to start getting from giving up all the badness will help me burn the excess. I hope?!?
