Yayyyyyyyyyyyy!!! I can't believe I have nearly not smoked for a whole month - couldn't even go an hour without one before.

Still thinking about it a lot though but not tempted, have even been to the pub!

What a filthy disgusting habit LOL. Well done to everyone who has given up :D

Hi, Annie. Well done on your 1 month quit!!! I'm behind you by 6 days and can't wait to start counting in months! I too, smoked for 35 years! Still can't see why I waited so long to quit.

Quit: Jan18, 2009

Thanks for the replies. I do know that monkey b'stard is waiting to pounce but I think I can resist his evil attempts at dragging me back (I'm assuming it is a he isn't it, though I expect a few men would disagree lol). I just remind myself of my reasons for giving up and tell myself that is it I can't smoke anymore - end of!

It's not just the smoking habit though is it? Just now, I walked into the kitchen to get the ashtray, so that's another habit, it's the queuing up to buy them at the cheapest price, panicking about running out so saving a couple of fags for the morning, emptying the car ashtray, popping outside at work etc etc. My mum used to give up every year for lent and then start again as she said it was like a friend to her. We have more time on our hands now, so we think more. All those thoughts like "Need a fag first..... or "will just smoke this and then I will ....."", they all need replacing don't they. That's when that monkey creeps in, when he sees a gap in the market lol.

Sorry to rubbish yap on but I just needed something to do instead of sitting smoking. :o
