me fishing
I did work Tony and that's a fine looking fish you've got there!
Very nice carp Tony, unfortunately up until a few years ago it was illegal to stock carp in NI and there are only a few venues have them, the only carp I've ever caught was a 5lb common - beautiful fish.
That really makes me wish the spring would hurry up, perhaps I could use some of my freed up cash to add to my tackle.
My son (16) wants to do one of those trips to France for monster carp for his 18th birthday so I'll have to look into that over the next year
its 9lb 12oz,took about 10 mins to get him to the landing net,,just great sport, plus you are in touch with nature,it just dont get better than that tony
john, thats what i would like to do,go to france for a week and catch one of there big lumps, wow i can see it now,rod in the water, then the line flys off,, you grab your rod,and as they say let the battle begine..john can you see it to,,arms being pulled out of there sockets as the carp makes a dase for freedoom, but you hold on for dear life,,,unlese you are a fisher man you can not imagine the buzz you get when your rod bends and your line rores off across the lake, wow, ops sorry got carried away,,just for a time this thread will take our minds off smoking for a time any way,,all the best keep the faith tony
,unlese you are a fisher man you can not imagine the buzz you get when your rod bends
I know what you mean mate thats a nice carp, I am sea angler myself but the sensation is the same.
Wayne
wayne,,i have never tried sea fishing, would like to try it one day,,as you say its the same buzz,,whats your pb best tony
My pb is a 16lb pollock off a boat in cornawall. That was fun but one dfay I will go for a carp or two.
carp will give you a good fight,i am fishing this week end,so will let you know how i get on,looking forward to it with my son in law, hail rain or snow i will be there tony
Have a great weekend doing something you love
Dont know much about fishing, but that sure is a big fish.

xx
Thats a fine speciman!!! the fish aint half bad either!!!!!
Great piccie Tony!
I love fishing - particularly carp although I only use a float - I don't have all the rigs set up with boilies etc (I leave that to my husband). I have had an 11lb mirror carp on some luncheon meat on a float which was a far bigger fish that day than my husband caught all day with his posh rigs!!
I love going to the lake on a warm evening after work where I can just chill out. I have even been known to forsake a days riding to go fishing!

Have a good trip and I hope you get the big one, tight lines mate.
Wayne
Nice Linear that mate:).
Got my first day session tomorrow since being smoke free - just going for a short one - then next week I've got my first overnighter of the year.
Note to the guys thinking of doing France. I fished there last year and the advice I'd give is reasearch it BIG TIME. It's not a case of turning up and hauling the big ones.
Love my carping but unfortunately I used to smoke like a trooper when on the bank. Thng I'm looking forward to is breathing in some lovely fresh air
thats a big one!
Oooh, I can't wait till the tench are back on the feed now...
That's a problem though, sitting by a lake with the sun going down, can of Magners in my hand, float sitting surrounded by pin prick bubbles - something missing though

Fish from the north east to as far down as Hull.
Concentrating on local club waters during the winter but go further afield once it warms up a bit (April onwards).
PB's - 18.5 lb Common / 18lb Mirror (small to some but t.b.h. I love to catch fish whatever the size).

hi john, went fishing on saturday and as they say i blanked,,not one fish.but the day was good so relaxed hope to go when the weather breaks,,tony
As long as you enjoyed the day out Tony, that makes it worthwhile. It'll be late March before I venture out, my feet still tend to get too cold at this time of year
Ended up going Sunday rather than Saturday as planned.
Blowing an easterly straight at me so damn cold, oh and I blanked as well.
Still enjoyed it though
