You are a marvel! Well done!:D

671? Yukkkkkkkkkk. That's about 30 a day.

Good job on stopping.:D

I am really happy for you and I am glad you have stopped smoking and have ceased hurting yourself!

Stopping smoking is about self respect and you have it in bucket loads.;)

Great isn't it?

Mine too!

Sachmo - Free and Healing for Two Months, Eighteen Days, 13 Hours and 13 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 9 Days and 16 Hours, by avoiding the use of 2784 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £232.78.

Shocking isn:eek:'t it!

So do you Lisa..one more day than me..well done.. ha ha.. well done to us all for NOT doing something...lol... picking up a nictotine stick that is....

I agree, it is about self respect, its about not being an addict anymore and not subjecting ourselves to poisons that kill us and line the pockets of other people who dont care about us, our health, kids or our wellbeing.... lecture over.. you get the gist!!!!

Right On!

I hear you!

Amen to all that!!

Those "quit counters" that you can download on your PC are good aren't they? Especially for motivation etc.

This morning, I turned on my pc at work and it told me that I had stopped for 25 days and 14 hours and I had NOT smoked 511 cigarettes saving £123!!!!!

Fantastic! So, why did we smoke for so long again????????????:confused::D

Lisa..i have no idea... seems bizarre now... but so normal at the time... tobacco/nicotine is evil.. it seriously astounds me that something that kills hundreds of thousands of people is just an accepted part of our culture... and people make money out of it.... when something like heroin that kills less than a few hundred is punishable by prison!!! Not that i am promoting heroin or any drug for that matter..lol... just saying that nicotine seems far worse in terms of its overall impact on society.. and is just accepted.

As I said bizarre!

I am sure nicotine is not evil and left alone, as part of a tobacco plant, it is just doing it's job and making sure any predators do not eat it's leaves!!!

What it did not bank on was ignorant people, rolling up its leaves and lighting them then inhaling via the lungs!!!!

Sounds stupid doesn't it?

What really saddens me though it the ignorance of the NHS with regard to smoking.

I recently attended a smoking cessation clinic at work and whilst I appreciated the support I received from the nurses, I think (in my opinion) that they are as ignorant as everyone else in that smoking is not merely a bad habit.....it is a drug addiction.

I feel the same way as you though, it really makes me furious to think there are millions of people, puffing away, killing themselves and yet the tobacco companies do not seem to care. How they can make a living out of the misery of others is completely beyond me.

Just my opinions for what they are worth.

:D

If tobacco was discovered today and science were able to determine the effects and addictive nature then it would be illegal. I am certain of that, however, millions/billions of people are addicted world wide and if governments worldwide banned it there would be riots (and less tax revenue). Having said that I can't help but think that we are letting down our children and their children by failing to bring in some kind of phased ban.

It might take 50 years to bring in an outright ban but it would IMHO be worth it.
