Hi and welcome to this site, it's nice to hear your feeling good on your first day, good luck with your quit and this site will help you heaps if your feeling stressed or just want a chat.
Drink lots of water and take long walks - others will come on and give you their advice also but you seem as if your doing ok.
take care

Cheers
Nic
Thanks all for being so nice - great to know that you have such support!
Hi Stephfriend
i also stopped with the help of Mr carr.
i found his "Easyway" to be a great help , especially for the first few days when the "euphoria" just carried me through.
after that i found reading as much as i could on the whyquit website a great help and then joining this forum also helped. (link in my signature)
My advice (its up to you if you follow it, we are all individual ) would be to read read read and learn as much as you can. Allen Carr gave a good grounding of information but it was after reading on whyquit and woofmang that i really felt that this quit would be the one, purely because i had enough information to help me over the various hurdles that were to come my way.
It is now over 6 months since i quit and it is a Great feeling.
good luck Steph
With the help available on here and on various other websites, YOU can do it!!!!

Dave
I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 1 Day, 15 hours, 8 minutes and 16 seconds (15 days). I have saved £117.22 by not smoking 468 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day and 15 hours of my life. My Quit Date: 16/08/2008 22:00
Hi Steph,
Great decision to quit. I too read Allen Carr.
It's not easy but very worthwhile. Get it straight in your mind and be sure you are quitting for the right reasons. (there are many reasons of which most are right).
Download a quitmeter on your pc, theyt are free and can be really beneficial when you see how many you haven't smoked and how much money you have saved. They are free to download too.
Best of luck and post any questions you have as i'm sure we have all asked them during our time here.
Welcome on board mate
I wish the best of luck mate and my only advice to you is: DO NOT SMOKE AGAIN
Thanks all for your lovely, encouraging words I am starting to struggle quite a bit but am determined to see it through!
Hang on in there, stay strong you CAN do it!
Welcome Steph

Thanks Linda just want to get home from work, I think it's being stuck at my desk that's making it difficult! xx
Hello mate,
congrats on deciding to quit, best decision youve made. It's day 9 for me and feeling brilliant.
For me whats helped is just drinking loads of water and exercise, and also I know this sounds weird but eating loads of bananas.
Suppose something different for everyone.
But good luck and stay quit.
I know this sounds weird but eating loads of bananas.
Suppose something different for everyone.
Doesn't sound weird at all, bananas are well known as a high energy, good mood food, which release serotonin. I can't believe I didn't think of it myself!
There is an interesting article here that suggests all sorts of benefits!
