going out 2nite!!

Hi guys,

I just want to say that I am going out 2nite 2 celebrate 2 things - my 1 month anniversary and I passed my college re-sits.

But I was wondering if anyone had any advice 2 give me as to how 2 resist fags an that coz the place that im going - mst of the ppl smoke!!

what shud i do?

OK not in the spirit of celebrating I know, but I'd suggest not having too many beers. Alcohol tends to cloud ones judgement, things that wouldn't seem like a good idea sober suddenly seem a great idea pissed.

For example, I have never had a donner kebab with extra hot chilli while sober, but while pissed I've eaten loads :o.

Well done for both your one month and passing your exams.

A couple of things to help avoid the fags.......as nic says, dont get too pissed and your judgement won't get clouded.

Also, when your mates come back in after going outside for a ciggie, smell them...Yup thats right, smell them. The stale smell from a smoker is disgusting and should help to put you off.

Another thing i found helped was to PITY the smoker. They are still a slave to nicotine whilst you have gained freedom. Yes you could have a puff but you know that now you don't need to have a puff.

How good is that?

i went out last weekend and all my mates smoked for a while i decided not to go outside so i couldnt be tempted, it go to hot i trusted my =self to go outside i had faith in myself not to smoke and i never i had lots to drink so i could have quite easily had a fag n blamed it on the beer but i never n when i wanted a fag i took someones fag n smelt it it was foul enough to put me of been tempted to smoke. have faith in your self philip you can do it.

Thanks for all your advice - not sure bout the smeeling the friend one - i would probably get a black eye lol and another, i hate beer lol, i drink Jack Daniels and Coke - the best combination!!

Hope you have a good night, as long as you keep your quit as the most important thing it won't be a problem. Thank God for the smoking ban, going out is such a pleasant experience for me now. At the start of my quit i would hav been torture to sit in that smoky room. Ugh.

As for the Jack D - hope you have painkillers for that head you'll have - talk about the hard stuff lol

Well,

it's the morning after and even though I was pretty much gone, I don't have a hangover - I'm one of the lucky people that don't get hangovers lol.

As for the night - very good night, just stayed in one pub with ma mate Grant and had a blast!!
