Hey mojo, you were a great help to me last time, I'm back on day 5 now so if you and the rest of the week 1'ers (i know it's not a word but don't care) want to team up let me know.

Well done everyone!

hello!!

Didnt get chance to come on last night cus my battery went and i had left my laptop leads at work!

I am glad to be on Day 4 with you both mojo and juney!! I knew we would do this!!! :D

I have my 2nd help 2 quit appointment in about 2hours - 2.15pm. Well, is first once since i quit on Monday. I am sooooo glad that i can say ive done it!! I am over the whole 'one drag' thing - to go from 10-20 a day, to one puff in 4 days - not that big a deal really. I know i havent faced any major challenges yet tho - not been around anyone smoking, not really seen anyone smoking. i suppose it helps cus im kicking my own habits and that, and then will have to deal with temptations. I am worried that the only time I caved, even though was only one drag, is the only time i have had the temptation - however i also know how guilty i felt after, so i dont think will do it again!!!

Am also taking a different approach at the mo - have decided not to use patches anymore.......... am now a cold turkey!!!

So glad to see you are both here on Day 4 - we can do this!! The three of us really do need a team name!! take us right through to a year of quitting!!!

So how are you both finding it? Any big challenges yet? :p

nsd_user663_3559

Well, my 2 big challenges happened last night and this morning.

Last night, I ended up in a big (and pointless) row with my other half, which HE blamed on me not smoking (of course it was his fault ;) ).

This morning, it took me 1 hour 45 minutes to get to work 13 miles from my home, thanks to the fact that Edinburgh grinds to a halt every time there's some bad weather. I didn't crave a fag once, thanks to my sore throat!!!

Been a bit grumpy with my clients at work today!

I still suggest Team Optimism?

well done juney

ok, well at least you didnt cave - well done!!!!!! :D

how about - The Optimistic 3 ?

I think I am doing the best thing by losing the patches - i dont want to have to quit smoking then in 4/8 weeks, quit patches too!!

May aswell go all out now!

So glad we are on Day 4 :D:D:D

PrudencePotts profile image

Erm.......

'Scuse me

I think The Optimistic 3 is a good name but aren't there four of you?

nsd_user663_3557 profile image
nsd_user663_3557

The Optimistic 4!!! :-)

Yeah there are 4 but I dont think Gonna_Try was aware of Dave, who has now joined the brigade!

Optimistic 4 then?

I'm optimistic about this one, so it suits me fine. :D *Signature update time*

Thats great - i will update my signature also!! Heres to the optimistic 4!!

p.s have just had my help 2 quit appointment and she has advised that i keep using the patches.... she said it would be detremental to my attempt to quit if i didnt use NRT as i have been proven that it helps/works... so, got a patch back on :(

i did say the reason i stopped patches was because i didnt want to have to quit all over again in 8 weeks, but she said they lower the dosage so you dont get any withdrawl symptoms from stopping NRT. i hope shes right!

hows you all doing on day 4? x x x

nsd_user663_3557 profile image
nsd_user663_3557

thats bad!

ha ha - thats awful!!

Im doing ok you know! I have continued with patches on the advice of my quit smoking person!!! i think they are helping cus this morning i did feel more agitated and hot and that, but i have calmed down since putting the patch back on!!

I am quite relieved at how well i am doing - i honestly could absolutely murder a fag!!! really really could....... and of course part of me is always thinking- just one...!??!

But no, im still going strong and i plan on continuing this now for the rest of my life and are you other 3 too!!!

We can and will do this :-)

Hi team mate. NEVER EVER EVER think 'just one...'! My last quit failed cos of that 'just one' moment. 3 weeks in, got REALLY p'd off, had one, and ended up just having another one, and another, etc etc etc.

Just keep going as you are. You're doing great, and if you give in we'll have to rename the team!!!

Is this where we get to know a bit about each other, so it might be more helpful moving each other along??

What would you like to know?

I'm a 35 year old computer programmer (or nerd), single parent to the cutest little 5 year old boy in the world, smoked for 19 years (with a 4 year break in the middle), and ermmmmm will that do?

nsd_user663_3559 profile image
nsd_user663_3559

Erm.

You know what age I am already. I've got a wee girl who's 4 in November, she's a wee star. Live with her and my other half and our pet ferret. Very into my music, gigging is my biggest hobby, sad I don't get to do it as often now.

:)
