Close call!

This happened at 8.30 this morning.

My neighour: "I thought you'd given up smoking"

Me: "I did. Three weeks ago."

Him: So, what's that in your hand?"

Me: (looks down, in horror) "err...."

(takes drag)

"... It seems like I've faltered"

...

Wakes up in cold sweat. "It was just a dream!"

Checks fag packet with last fag on night-table.

There's only half of a fag inside, the other half has clearly been smoked!

Has heart attack.

...

Wakes up FOR REAL this time.

Breathes HUGE sigh of relief. It was a dream inside a dream!

Checks fag packet. All present and correct: one unsmoked fag.

Desire to smoke it: NIL, ZERO, ZIP!

PHEW!

I smoked my last cigarette 3 Weeks and 2 Days ago. I have £188.80 that I haven't spent on 805 cigarettes and saved 2 Days, 19 hours and 5 minutes of my life.

am so glad for you that this was only a dream !!!!!!!!

A couple of nights ago I also dreamed that I was smoking and was than so relieved that it was only a dream.

I think it's natural that we have dreams like that as our subconscious tries to digest the non smoking situation.

So I try to see it as just having dealt with it also subcinsciously

This is a wild ride, ain't that the truth!

I've had all the sleeplessness, colds, coldsores, sore throats etc etc that people describe, but not the dreams.

We're all so different, aren't we.

That's one of the great things I've learned on this forum.

PS Did once have a real gorgeous sexy dream when on the patches once...and I met a fellow who does 'lucid dreaming' a couple of years ago (where you learn to control your dreams by becoming conscious in the dream itself) and he said he often used nic patches to provoke vivid dream states...I don't think he was a smoker.

Maybe should have posted this in the 'General' area...oh well!!
