In addition to Zyban I am now using also a combination of Bach Flower remedies and find this very usefull.

I study the remedies and decided on

Elm - to boost up the self confidence and the ability to say 'I can'

Centaury - to be able to say no

Walnut - to get used to the change

Aspen - against unknown fears

Has anybody else experience with the remedies /

There is also a craving essence by bioforce which I have in work and is a combo of lots of flower remedies supposed to diminish cravings.

This was a great idea sunny, I always use flower remedies for stress, anxiety and other things and i hadn't even thought of mixing one of my own for quitting DUH!:o

lol Fairy - sometimes we just don't think about things we have at home.

I don't know about this anticraving remedy - I only use the Bach flowers - specially because I am studying them - but am for sure interested in anything which helps to stay smoke free.

One more thing - any resent ex smoker who still has cravings should stay away from orange for the time being.

Orange is a wundeful colour - the colour of the sacral chakra but it really does enhance cravings

Hi

I mean anything orange - cloths - food - ....

it does not mean that you should avoid it absolutely but for example if you are in doubt of wearing an orange or a different colour t-shirt I would recommend not to wear the orange one at the beginning of quitting.

Pale yellow is a colour that can help against cravings -again anything pale yellow - I for example have my computer screen ( when working on a c.a.t.s suystem ) in pale yellow

Bach flower remedies do not treat the symptoms but restore the balance of the mind and help so the body to recover.

There is no Bach flower remedy against stomach problems - 3 people with stomach problems might need 3 different remedies or combination of remedies.

the remedies which I mentioned above might be a general help for quitting smoking - for a more personalised combination it needs a consultation.

The remedies work on homoepathic prinicipal and are safe - they do not interfere and are not interfered with any medication.

Only contra indication is : recovering alcoholics - the remedies are preserved in alcohol - the actual amount one takes is minute - to nothing if put into a hot drink - but still I would be careful with alcoholism.

Well put!!

You are right, it's about balance. You have to help the remedies along somewhat. Any stomach problems i've had in the past.... Aloe Vera. Sorted. (well they were minor things)

PLUS! I tried out what you suggested re pale yellow. Only things I could find of that colour were

1. Sponge for washing the car  and

2. Post-its! LOL

Still, I kept the post-its near my computer screen in work :o (and ate a banana)

I'll find something better soon. Keep up the great advice sunny :)

great that you gave it a try - Fairy :) - and post its are as good as anything else - definetly good thinking from your side

btw - today I stopped with the Zyban and am using the remedies only - got spots and was sweating a lot - I don't want to blame the Zyban but have the feeling it might have been the reason.

As with any chemical medication it will have different effects on different people so I thought I better stop it - hope these spots disappear.

Hi :)

SAD - colour wise off course again yellow - the colour of the sun and the solar plexus - have yellow flowers in the house for example - maybe also lemon essential oil ( please the real one - no fragrant one - lemon is not expensive )

maybe you want to buy day light simulating light bulbs guess you can buy them in b&q

Bach remedies - bit more complex - as it's not only the SAD but what you feel about it - so more personal - but feel free to ask me in a pm.

Generally Mustard - helps with depression without any known reason - well yes there is the reason like the lackk of the sun - but if it was a definite known reason it woudl effect evrybody

Thanks Coolerking :) - so the pastilles are basically the rescueremedy - good to know

mojo - red is not a negative colour - quite contrary - it's a very grounding colour.

I just suggested to avoid too much orange when you stop smoking as orange - a wunderful colour - specially for creativity - also enhances cravings - while pale yellow helps against cravings.

What you should surround you with or wear depends on your very situation , your very personality and your very problems.

One more thing for those here who suffer from depressions - really stay away from specially dark blues.

Watch out for the laxative effect!

nsd_user663_3130 profile image
nsd_user663_3130

lol Barbara

if you want to avoid any possible laxative effect - forget the pastilles and just buy the rescue remedy - I had a lokk on the internet - thanks again King - the pastilles are nothing else but the rescueremedy in pastilles - the laxative efeect comes from the ingridiens in the pastilles not from the remedy
