Is there anyone out there who has been on patches and gone through all the steps without feeling panicky when they are reduced. I am now on 10 mg patches and feel like I have just started my quit instead of being nearly 60 days without:confused:.
All last week and Easter weekend I have felt like this and can only hope that it gets better as the days progress. I can say, though, that I haven't given in but just finding it hard at the moment so it would be nice to know if anyone else has gone through the same and it is not just me:eek:

You know, I hate this B*****D of an addiction with a vengeance! Once it grabs hold of us it just seems to not ever want to let go of us  It just springs out at you at every corner it can.
Well, we are stronger than that. We ARE gonna beat it. All of us. Even if it takes many tries, each and every one of us on this forum is going to beat it.
And so will you Jan. You say it is feeling hard at the moment...well it won't feel hard forever. The nasty evil f**ker IS going to be beaten into submission and it will not dominate your life forever.
Hope the hard times disappear soon for you Jan, just show the evil monster what for!

Sorry for my rant!
Thanks Maddie and please keep ranting - every little rant helps they say (or something like that - hehehe;)). I hope the hard times disappear soon too - don't want to go back to the 15 mg patch so will persevere on this one. Hopefully in the next week or two I will be singing a different tune and have shown the basty nastard a thing or two!!!
If you don't feel ready to go down to a lower strength patch just yet maybe you can just stay on the stronger one for now? Having said that, maybe you would feel 'panicky' no matter when you went down a strength...I don't know. I do know one thing though, I know that you really want to give up so therefore you are able to beat the evil addiction no matter what it throws at you. Sorry I can't be much more help.
I have used patches in the past but unfortunately for me, they didn't really 'do' much so I gave up on them. Consequently, I am unable to answer your question in your post. I'm sure someone will be along soon who can, though.
I've been feeling panicky a lot from day 1 - I am today too.
I haven't used the patches, but my partner has - he's just about to drop to 14 or 7mg (?) end of this week, and he's felt exactly the same as me throughout his quit!
The only advice I can offer is how I've handled it ('cause I really hate feeling panicky), and that's by taking Kalms (sorry for naming them on here anyone that's offended!... It's not intentional, I'm not trying to sell 'em on here, I don't work for 'em, and I'm not writing a book about 'em!).. they seem to help and free up the airways a bit so I can deep breathe again!.. Rescue Remedy would probably do the same (here I go again - shame on me!)...!
I hope you feel better later Jan, it's a horrible feeling that is unfortunatley controlled mainly by your mind.. it's not the easiest thing to keep focused on as well as staying off the cigs is it! Stay strong and focused.. you've done SO well .. you're nearly there at the end of our course, then it's a home run for you! Easy all the way - you WILL get past this little tough time! (((HUG)))
