Day one, again...

Hi All,

First time on here. My first day off the evil stuff again after a massive night out and hardly being able to breath this morning.

Apart from all my previous attempts and every method under the sun, i have found that I can manage with will power until about a week in then I always trip up. Beit at the pub or just this itchy feeling.

Not sure if the NHS methods are really the route for me, but I think being intouch others in the same boat will definitely help me to keep me focused.

All the best to everyone just starting out

Well Joe you've come to the right place.

I'm just coming to the end of day 4 and no fags what so ever :)

I've found this forum has been great, everyone on here is in the same boat, and it's great to bounce idea off each other, and talk to people to see if they are experiencing the same problems and how people get over them.

Joining a team is what i recommend, teaming up with people who have stopped on the same day.

And, and i know i've said this in a load of posts already and a load of people are probably going to think yawn yawn yawn i wonder if this bloke is getting commission !! if you're having difficulties you should read "Stoppings Easy" by Andy Marshall - stoppingseasy.com

I've been reading it since Thurs, nearly finished it, and it's really help me.

Anyway, good luck Joe

I have been quit for 3 Days, 23 hours, 23 minutes and 29 seconds (3 days). I have saved £16.38 by not smoking 119 cigarettes. I have saved 9 hours and 55 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 12/03/2008 00:00

All the best Joe with your quit.

As I am now on Day 7, I can tell you that although the cravings and the breaking of habits are tough, coming in here is great for all of us. There are loads of us on here and we are all supporting each other.

In terms of waking up after a heavy night of smoking and hardly being able to breath, there has not been a better feeling for me each morning last week of not having that heavy chest feeling and already I can feel my chest feeling lighter. I used to hate that squeaking noise I used to make every time I took a deep breath!

Keep strong. The week has passed quicker than I thought it would and just think, this time next week you can already say you're on Day 7!
