Good morning!

Here by the skin of my teeth! Yesterday turned into a living day from hell and all I wanted at 5pm was a cigarette! But I didn't cause smoking's bad for you innit and it wouldn't have changed the situation, I'd have just felt even more stressed becuase I smoked! That's the great thing about getting this far isn't it.. you CAN'T have one - it's just not worth the dreadfull feeling you'll get if you do - well, works for me anyway!!

Have a good day 428 and an official "welcome" to Maeagain! Woohoo - new team member! Alriiiiight! :D x

Mojo.. if you're anything like me, with my CT quit, I definately make myself miserable - it really is a case of mind over matter for you now as you're this far down the road!

P.M.A all the way.. you're rocking with this now.. keep going dude - I know you can! ((HUG)) :D

Hi all and well done for getting this far.

Mojo, now that you are going CT do you feel like you are quitting all over again? (sort of)

Thats good mojo. You'll be completely clean soon enough eh?

Sometimes I want a cig so much that I feel like having some of the nic lozenges I bought when I decided to quit but for some reason I feel that would be a step back if I was to use any NRT product now. Is that reasonable logic? I just can't help feeling that because I have gone CT from Day One, that to use those lozenges/patches now, would be kinda cheating. Weird.

Hmmm, I have likened it to it, but its different, instead of keep thinking about smoking, I'm kinda of desperate to have a chewing gum, thus proving the nicotine addiction, after a month of no smoking, I feel Im out of the habit, dont miss the breaks, ones at particular times in the day, really dont want to actually smoke, but I feel like Im all wanting, odd situation.

Its day 3 of CT anyway, so last drops are going out of my system, that will be the reason.

I just want to be able to say that I have none in me, and Im completeley clean then.

Still have my resolve, and that will never die.

Ali: I have drastically reduced the amount of NRT I take (via inhalator and lozenges). I had a terrible cold last week and couldn't bear the menthol taste of the inhalator as it made my throat so sore, consequently I have reduced the amount a lot. I was fine while I was ill, but by yesterday I was feeling twitchy. I didn't want a cig, just kinda restless and out of sorts. All I can think is that we break the habit with NRT, but we do at some time have to deal with the addiction. I have a few weeks worth left if I eek it out, so will gradually cut back. I don't want to be like my OH who quit a year ago and still chews nicotine gum and has taken up the inhalator now too:mad: I guess it's a case of having resolve as you say...good luck going CT, it is the best thing by far if you're ready

mojo,

don't expect the 72 hour thing to be like a switch closing.

Having no nicotine in your system and your body being happy with having no nicotine in your system are 2 different things.

You've still got to be on your guard for a week or two..!

Still on the nicotine gum after a year - yikes.

I actually quite like it now - I think I'm getting addicted to it now!

I heard of a guy who was still on it after 3 years.

Ali: A year, I know.... I have mentioned my concerns but he gets all grumpy. All I can hope is when I ditch the NRT that he will be spurred on. I actually spent my last meeting with the cessation counsellor talking strategies for him!!!!

Not what you're looking for?
