Just got back from Gran Canaria. Had a fabulous week, weather was glorious mid 80's every day, ate too much, drank too much.

But most importantly not one cigarette smoked.

Hope everyone is doing well and still quit.

Hello Annasmummy!!

Glad you had a great holiday! How did you find not smoking? Was it easier than you thought it would be? Can you offer any advice for us all on "trigger" times and how you coped?

Was the holiday good?

I have been quit for 2 Weeks, 6 Days, 16 hours, 13 minutes and 51 seconds (20 days). I have saved £103.37 by not smoking 413 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Day, 10 hours and 25 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 17/02/2008 22:00

thanks Linda, yes feels like a big milestone has been passed.

Mojo-jojo and Lady Sa - I did enjoy it every bit as much. I actually think the worst craving was in the arrivals lounge watching the mad rush by the smokers to get out and get lit up!

My sister and 21 year old son were very good and smoked in the garden of the apartment, so that was good.

To tell you the truth around the poll area and the bar/entertainments area the smokers were in the minority, and I didn't smoke around Anna anyway so the day times were fine. In the evenings the smokers had to go outside, so that was ok as well.

Just when we were out for meals and drinks in the resort it sort of crept up on me, but I just popped a bit of gum, had another drink and it was ok.

All in all, it was much ,much better than I had expected.

And I think one thing is for definate - the hangovers haven't been half as bad as when you've smoked 20 fags with the wine, cocktails and vodka!

Holiday was great first couple of days weather was a bit dissappointing, but after that it was very hot and sunny.

Anna was great in the pool literally all day, so was bale to get in a fair bit of sunbathing....only 2 1/2 and she's now jumping into the pool from the edge, with arm bands of course....

Really enjoyed it, just went far too fast!!!

Isn't it really nice not to search for the smoking area at the airport!!!

We went to Egypt at Xmas and cigs were £7.00 for 200. My OH thought I'd weaken but I didn't.

Although haven't had one since 18th November, still could be tempted but benefits (and purse) outweigh temptation!!!
