started my quitting campaign yesterday, I've smoked about 40 a day for the last 7 years and i've always really enjoyed it. But now a lot of my new friends dont smoke and with the smoking ban in pubs and clubs then i dont get the same enjoyment from it as i use to. So I bought myself a box of the NRT gum and started my quit yesterday. By lunch time I really started to struggle a bit (as i'm in work and i always look forward to my lunch break fag), so i decided to look round on the net for stop smoking forums and found this one, I read all the threads in the day 1 section and it reminded me a lot why i wanted to quit and helped me stay focused.
So I managed to make it through day, hopeing day 2 will be as succesfull and just wanted to say thank you for all your help yesterday
P.S. I dont know who mentioned 'Quit Keeper', but I love that program now

Hi Static! Well done and good luck on day 2! Going for a walk round the block really fast helped me deal with the lunchtime break association at the office.
Congrats on your quit and well done on day two. The first few days are hard but things improve a lot after the first week keep posting mate it helps. Linda xxxxx
I know they always say that you should tell as many people as you can so that they can support you, but I dont really want any1 in work to know, not because i'm worried i'll fail but because none of them smoke and I know they'll just make mention it every 5 minutes and that will just stress me out (driving me to ruin). So being able to po on here and talk to people who are or have gone through this makes things a lot easier.
Well day 2 is over (as i'm going to bed now :-), managed to get through it without smoking, day 3 here i come.
stats so far:
I have been quit for 2 Days, 1 hour, 15 minutes and 37 seconds (2 days). I have saved £4.10 by not smoking 41 cigarettes. I have saved 3 hours and 25 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 25/02/2008 23:00
Remember take 1 day at a time i found it easier to say ' I am not smoking today' which someone else on here advised and it really helped - doesnt feel quite so daunting - Good Luck
Yeah I'm still doing well, haven't had a single slip up yep, around the end of day four i started feeling really low like, I know this is gonna sound weird but a bit lonely and scared about not smoking, like my life woul be a bit empty. so I threw myself into the housework, managed to take my mind of it and now have a spotless house
I have been quit for 6 Days, 1 hour, 7 minutes and 40 seconds (6 days). I have saved £10.05 by not smoking 90 cigarettes. I have saved 7 hours and 30 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 25/02/2008 23:00
