New to this ...

Hey!

Briefly looked up withdrawal symptoms on the internet and came across you guys!! Have been totally absorbed in reading all the different threads. I think it is a fantastic idea for people to reach out and get support from each other.

I'm on day 5 now. Last rollie on monday night. Oddly enough there was no fixed plan to give up.

Just going with the flow ....

Hello Kubali,

Well giving up with no plan and just going with the flow sounds amazing to me!!

That's the way many wish it could be! you're very lucky and that flow is one well worth riding!

Keep it up!! Well Done!

Still flowing ....

Hey Buffy!

Thanks for the reply and the encouragement.

Day 6 and feeling funky. Watched dvd last night ( "Last King of Scotland") had a couple of pangs in the middle. Realised that it was the old habit thing barging in. All that wonderful learned behaviour from 27 years of smoking.

Kinda imagined that the smoking thing was in the past, behind an old brick wall. Don't feel much like visiting there anymore.

Is this sounding a little crazy?

Hi Kubali

NO I don't think you are crazy. I reckon you are being honest. One thing I've quickly learned from this forum is that NO ONE here is in the slightest judgmental

towards others. We are all in the same boat here, quitting smoking, and each one of us has his/her own ways of doing this so do whtever works best fore YOU.

Stay strong

Karen

Sure you don't want to go round that wall again but you will still hear sounds through the wall from time to time just be sure not to let curiosity get the better of you and go peek!!

Each old habit triggers you encounter and pass will make it easier and easier.

Keep it up :D

Buffy ....

Promise not to peek...

Well not today anyway!!

I'm feeling very relaxed at the moment. Sitting in the sun with a headful of conditioner in an old ratty dressing gown.

Been trawling through the threads and enjoying everyone's input. Just finished the sancheeter or whatever he was called, incident. Interesting!

People are so fascinating. Just love all the different types. It's what makes coming on here so rewarding. Quitting is a great equalizer. Glad we can all express what we feel. Certainly helps

Thanks sweetie ..

Thanks Kazza ...

Isn't it wonderful to be able to breathe in and smell things.... WOW!!!

Mind you I walked to the shop yesterday and suddenly thought 'This road is very very SMELLY!!!'

Had never noticed before... Suddenly started laughing. How can a whole road be smelly?

Felt good!

I guess people let their dogs use all the lamposts on that road! lol

I must be honest with you though K as I am only on day 1 of this quit I can't notice the difference. Having said that I noticed it in my previous quits (all 4 of them).hopefully My sense of smell will return in a couple of days. For better or worse lol

Karen;)

Hmm yes sense of smell thing is difficult ! for better or for worse? that is the question!

When it comes to tasting nice things better for sure but yeah the street thing i get you!

Oxford street yesterday was like that to me, all the people hanging outside shops smoking, bus n taxi fumes, mcdonalds yuck! all these smells being baked in the warmth of the sun. Then walking in big stores to a combination of 1,000 different scents!

I was sneezing all afternoon!

Today I am chilling to the sound of radio1s big weekend at preston

Indoors!

Laughing!

Oxford Street sounds one to avoid for a while then. Perhaps we could think about a new invention for time-release pegs for new non-smokers,to get them used to the big pong out there? I'm thinking of something in pink??

Have fun doing the Radio 1 thing. Is it sunny where you are? I think I'm getting a headache. Maybe I need to eat more jelly??

What are your thoughts on Jelly consumption?

nsd_user663_1744

What sort of jelly are we talking about here? sweet - like strawberry, savoury ie. aspic or even the stuff that chemists sell(and I don't mean Petroleum jelly!lol

Let me know Karen

Kazza!!

laughing!

No I mean sugar-free strawberry, raspberry stuff.

Thought it might be cool to have some in the fridge for those ....'

AGH!!! Don't know what to do with myself' .... moments. You know the ones when old habits start to make themselves felt???

Although of course I could pop to the chemist and see what they have in stock there. Wonder if they're open???

Ha ha !
