Today is day 15 since I quit, I've had no lapses and my cravings have seriously reduced. On Monday I don't remember thinking about smoking at all during the day.
I'm reasonably confident that I've cracked this and within a couple of weeks I'll have no cravings at all.

That's good to hear! Whatever you are doing it is obviously working, 4 weeks is the real marker, get to that and you can be sure the nicotine has left your body and any addiction has been beaten!
Well done 1 fortnight down and many routine tasks have been performed without smoking, so you know life goes on without it
Also 1 month - 28 days, is how long it takes us to turn something into habit so at this point as volcano has mentioned, is also when the smoking part is no longer a habit.
Keep it up Oohitburns! hehe great name, mind boggles
well done getting to day 15,im on day 17 and this week is a little easy then last.
Everyone very supportive and helps you get through the hard days,
This site is so good i told the nurse, where i get support with the new drug champix at my local G P about the site and she asked me to get the address so she could put it on the notice board for other ex smokers to read.
With the support of my wife family and friends and all you guys here i would like to say cheers.
Lets all keep going its hard work, but we will beat IT
Tomorrow is the start of day 22 (why is there no week 4 subforum....you need to do week 4 before you get to month 2!!).
Anyway still no lapses and the return of my sense of smell is quite remarkable, a neighbour who lives probably 80 feet from me goes out onto her balcony when she has a cigarette, nowadays I can smell her light up!!
I've put on about half a stone (I'm not too worried about that as I can burn that off later). Cravings now are pretty rare down to maybe one every other day if at all. I still keep a bottle of room temp water to hand, if I get a craving I just drink a lot of water (room temp not chilled so you don't get stomach cramps) and row for about 30 minutes on my rowing machine.
I really do suggest to every one if you can cold turkey it do it!! The worst of the withdrawal was over in 6 days and since then it's got easier and easier.
