Hi Debz

I am now on day 3, but would not have got here without my lovely patch:p Have had a few tough moments but I am so determined not to give in and feeling very proud of myself & hope you are too! were you are long time, heavy smoker? Have you tried to stop before? (sorry, I am nosy!)

Good Luck to us!:D

Dutchgirl and Debs

Hi their both of you.....well I bet you both feeling well proud now. 2 and 3 days is great. I found first 48 hrs the hardest biut suppose its differant for us all. Hardest thing for me was not having the actual ciggy in my hand so thats why I was glad I found this site. Keeps hands busy when Im on own and also you get some great advice.

I previously used the Zyban when it first came out....it did work for a few months and after I started "again" SMOKING "YUCK" I thought it would work again no problems but it didnt. Did get a couple of side effects with the tablets but nothing more than what I get on patches....oh and the tablets do keep you "happy" lol.

As far as the Alan Carrs books are concerned I am a great fan. It puts all are worst thoughts and nightmares down, explains what we are actually doing to ourselves and then gently persuades us about the REAL truths on smoking. I didnt use it directly to quit, unlike some of my friends, but it did put me in right frame of mind to DECIDE to quit, which was a big plus and every smoker would see themselves in that book.

Anyway reckon the both of you are well on your way to succeeding.....just look towards the next day as a non smoker. Also you must both be feeling really proud and isnt it strange actually not stinking of smoke and being able to taste. Keep It going....loads of respect!

Hi Debz....good to see you staying the course....you know it makes sense. Alan Carr rocks.....he's quite straight forward with his thinking and mempries of the "nicotine monster" and why you shouldnt feed him are still quite vivid....and it 4 years since I read it.

Anyway whatever helps us give this smoking mallarchy the elbow is good with us eh! Keep it going....u must be really proud. Makes you realise there is life without fags!
