Hi 79catherine,

I am concerned whenever I read that someone is taking apricot seeds. Please read these comments from reputable sources like the USA NIH and WebMD:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/201...

webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingre...

While Wikipedia is not as reliable here is a succinct explanation of the risk:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apric...

Apricot stones (kernels are inside)

An apricot kernel is the seed of an apricot, and is often called a "stone". It is known for containing amygdalin, a poisonous compound. Together with the related synthetic compound laetrile, amygdalin has been marketed as an alternative cancer treatment. However, studies have found the compounds to be ineffective in the treatment of cancer, as well as potentially toxic or lethal when taken by mouth, due to cyanide poisoning.[1]

-

Apricot kernels can cause potentially fatal cyanide poisoning when consumed. Symptoms include nausea, fever, headaches, insomnia, increased thirst, lethargy, nervousness, various aches and pains in joints and muscles, and a drop in blood pressure.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

-

In 1993 the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets tested the cyanide content of two 220 gram (8 oz) packages of bitter apricot kernels imported from Pakistan that were being sold in health-food stores as a snack. The results showed that each package, if consumed entirely, contained at least double the minimum lethal dosage of cyanide for an adult human; the product was removed from stores.[10] There was one reported case in the medical literature of cyanide toxicity from apricot kernels from 1979 to 1998 in the United States, a non-fatal poisoning by purchased apricot kernels.[11]

The way I see it its self controlled chemotherapy. Cyanide in increments is less damaging on the body than chemo is. Though thats up to the people who choose to take it.

But the question is, if "studies have found the compounds to be ineffective in the treatment of cancer" Then why take a poision?

-

The chemo may have more severe side effects than a low dose of cyanide, but at least it has been proven to treat cancer and extend the life of most patients.

-

Annectdotal evidence that one or two people got better after taking cyanide is not useful, there are no statistics showing how many people did not get better and died from the cancer because they did not treat their cancer with an effective drug.

I will take anecdotal of a real persons experience as useful information, especially if chemo has not been sufficient for them. You can take what you like and promote the 'not proven' position if you like but I value all peoples experience.

I don't know anything about the carrot or apricot regime so can't comment. I'm a cheerleader for adopting a healthy diet though because if it suits you it will strengthen you so that your body is better prepared to cope with the disease and or treatment if and when you need it.

Vegan suits some people and not others. I do low carb myself. Its important to keep your medical team informed of what you're doing so that they can properly assess what's going on.

My experience is that they won't object to anything that is neither extreme nor potentially toxic (see lankisterguy's caution below) or in conflict with any treatment you would be on.

Best wishes,

I think you are eating way too many apricot seeds. I can barely down 2 a day which I stopped because they made me feel like I was consuming something toxic. The G-BOMBS and carrot juicing are great. Keep up the good work.

im no longer juicing or eating appricot seeds although a friend swears he healed his wifes cancer eith the seeds. I do hear a lot about 0zone and did try that

Please talk to your medical team about any dietary changes.

I have also seen lots of comments from people taking Vitamin D at dangerously high levels, because they have read a study that is looking into the possibility of Vitamin D prolonging remission. However, these studies are done in a scientifically managed and controlled manner.

Ingestion of too much vitamin D can damage your health.

Most people wouldn't attempt to fix their own car or rewire their own house, they'd get an expert in to do that. So why take unnecessary risks with our own health when it is already under severe strain? Talk to a dietician.

Look at Chris Ward book, how I beat Cancer, similar approach but with other additions. I have NHL, on watch and wait on Alkaline diet, juicing and taking CBD. Have been taking Apricot seeds, a lot of scare mongering around Apricot Kernals, look at the science, rather than the rhetoric ! other fruits with same properties, body metabolises it. Done me no harm. Sweats gone, fatigue gone, nodes reduced. Good luck
