I asked my consultant and she said if I was up to it to go ahead. I finished my chemo in April last year and we went to Spain for a week in September. We didn't do a lot of sightseeing because I was still very tired but the break really helped.
I will be finished in June and I was hoping to go in August, maybe I should wait till next year! I don’t want to risk getting poorly abroad, thank you for your reply.
In my experience I would not go far from home especially if your blood counts are not close to normal. Going abroad you will not get any travel insurance. Stay close to hospitals as anything can happen at any time but a short break can be good. I was flown off a cruise ship after 3 days of a 14 day cruise so I have some (not good!) experience with doing this. Good luck.
