Tips for getting the best out of your medical appointments?

Some doctors are good communicators, others not so good. They are often too busy to explain things in a way we can understand. Medical appointments can be stressful when we fear progression of our illness. Has anyone any useful tips for getting the best out of your medical appointment?

Make a list of symptoms, questions and concerns to discuss with MD. Also bring copies of any interim reports and scans from other MD's you have seen since your last visit.
