Pool parties, rock wall climbing, and sleepovers are experiences many may take for granted. Not Maya Zarger. She developed kidney failure as a baby and was unable to participate in these activities as she grew up. That all changed when she turned nine and started attending Camp ChiMer, a camp experience designed specifically for kids with kidney disease. Now an adult, Maya is ready to share her story and inspire more children with kidney disease. Learn more about Maya's story at: kidney.org/newsletter/life-...

Maya's mom was a huge support to me when my daughter was first diagnosed. She walked me through how to manage peritoneal dialysis at home and then our daughters were able to attend Camp ChiMer together many years later! I'm so glad to read this post and so glad that Maya is happy and doing well. Thanks so much for sharing your story, Maya!!!
