Empagliflozin

I have a 30yr transplant but my main problem now is heart failure. I had to come off Entresto as it had an adverse effect on my kidney function.

Now prescribed 10mg Empagliflozin to hopefully help breathlessness. I am reluctant to start this after my previous experience.

Would like to hear if anyone has a similar experience.

Full disclosure, I sell empagliflozin (Jardiance) and have had discussions with nephrologists who are using it with transplant patients for the cardiovascular benefits. Jardiance is currently indicated for CKD but was not studied in transplant patients specifically. Recommend you discuss fully with your doctor.

Thanks for your reply. After my bad experience with Entresto I will be very cautious before starting Jardiance which I presume works in a different way. Need to have my renal consultant and cardiologist in agreement!

Had my kidney transplant about 6 years ago. I've been on Jardiance for NODAT (post-transplant diabetes) for about two years now. My kidney function is better than ever. No problems so far.
