I think after 60 things are difficult for many just because of age. Post menopause creates issues for everyone not transplant. Have you spoken to a nurse or doctor about it?

Hi,

Mine was non existent for 7 years on the dialysis and 6 month after transplant it came back with a bang 😂 I was good for 2 years and then menopause hit ! It’s not as bad as Dyalysis but my libido is very low. My nephrologist offered me female viagra but I’ve never tried it. There is help for females so talk to the doc .

Good luck

I had a similar experience, though I was only on dialysis for 2 years. One month after transplant my sex drive was off the charts, and I'm in my sixties. I eventually talked with and ARNP at the transplant center, asking if it is possible I got some male hormones with the kidney and she said no. She attributed it to just being healthy again, but this was beyond what I had ever experienced in my life. I'm 2 plus years past transplant. Things have settled down somewhat. I just wonder if other women who received a kidney from a male have had a similar experience.

I started peri menopause at 40 , but if you’ve no symptoms you’re good. Don’t let the doctor shrug you off . Sex is important for females aswell.

Have you tried talking to a gynecologist? This type of specialist would probably be better able to assist or at least refer you to someone. Good luck

get your hormones checked. I had low testosterone at 44yrs. Easy fix with injections.
