I have a friend that has been denied a 2nd kidney transplant b/c they say his arteries have calcification over them. They are unable to put it on the left side where the first transplant was, and as I said, the other side has calcification so he was denied. He's looking for a hospital that can do difficult transplants. If anyone has experienced this, or has a hospital recommendation in Florida preferably, but anywhere usa, please let me know. Thanks

Denied Transplant due to Calcification. Need help.
I had my kidney transplant at Jackson Memorial Miami Transplant in December. They have really taken care of me. I am 71 y/o and doing well. I had some calcification in my artery where my kidney was attached. And Jackson Memorial in Miami does the most transplants in the USA and if complications do occur I am sure they have seen it all.I hope this information helps you. Call them and get an appointment and let them evaluate and see if he is a candidate for surgery.
Have you tried Tampa General? They are awesome but I'm not sure about your friends circumstances
You've got to keep trying. I was denied double hip replacement surgery by two Ortho's because of the transplant and afib. Finally, I found a surgeon confident in his skills to perform the surgery. It took a lot of work to find someone, but I did. Don't give up. It is more about the Surgeon's confidence, then it is about your issue. 👍
Thank you. We are searching for him.
