Been doing Hemodialysis 3 times per week for 2 years. They check my pulse rate before the run starts and it has always appeared to be a regular pulse. Recently the clinic has diagnosed an irregular heart beat after the run has started. Has anyone else experienced this?

Irregular Pulse
I was on hemodialysis for three and a half years and sometime during that process I developed afib. Basically, an irregular heartbeat. Have your Doctor run an EKG to determine what's going on.
Hello Hdsliman62 , I developed the same problem after being on hemo for about 3 years. My Dr. thought it was because the machine can get your electrolytes out of balance. I knew it was more going on because it started to happen on my days off the machine & weekends. I saw my cardiologist & was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation & was prescribed Eliquis, so talk to your Dr. about seeing a cardiologist. The cardiologist will run test and give you a definite diagnosis. If it is afib and if it’s left untreated it can get worse and cause serious problems, so get on it now because nobody knows your body like you. Also you are your own best advocate. Good luck & GOD BLESS YOU.
Could you share: what is the max heart rate your heart reaches and what is the highest duration does it remain at this max heart rate (it is a real time display and not an avg heart rate). Also check the levels of potassium and magnesium...Thanks
