Hi there, I have not had this problem recently, but had it years ago when on ciclosporin, azathiaprine and prednisalone. Immunosuppressants can cause fungal infections; these grow underneath nails so that the finger or toe nails can lift up, come loose and then come off. I lost at least one finger nail and toe nail in this way. I was given various treatments to try from a consultant dermatologist, and from my GP - none of them worked. Then someone suggested tea tree oil and it worked very quickly and very effectively.
