I also had to stop taking a NSAID. I was diagnosed at CKD level of 3B (closer to 4). My Doctor prescribed a CKD diet based on levels of phosphorus, potassium, sodium and protein.

Maybe ask your Doctor if a CKD diet would be appropriate for you.

Did he base that “diagnosis” on something or was it just his tremendous predictive abilities? If you really want/need help,we need a tad bit more information. A CKD diagnosis is more complicated then just one blood test…most doctors won’t give a percentage of damage or functionally remaining as specific as 50%. So you need to explain what happened during your visit to cause him to give such a “cutting edge treatment plan of no NSAIDS and drink more water…if that’s how he sent you out the door I would never darken that quacks door again, as that’s idiotic period and boarding on malpractice…IF that’s how it really went down. Instead I suspect you are leaving out large chunks of info. Comeback with more info if you really want/need help.

Nothing to be done at this point and no NSAIDs. The water will help keep well hydrated and kidneys flushed out if you have or can get a access to your labs it is more helpful to know the BUN and creatine. Do what he says plus no sodas. If you drink coffee or tea then limit to one or two 6 to 8 ounce coffees a day and you have even more water for each cup. You need to have two consecutive lab results to validly assess
