Those numbers suggest to me that you're at the right dosage, but only your doctor can tell you for sure. As long as you're not getting dizzy or light-headed when exercising, he'll probably keep you at the present dosage unless you complain that you want it lowered.

My dosage was 50 mg, but I had to be taken off it due to getting hyperkalemia (potassium too high)

No new meds. Dr gave me one but could not tolerate. It made my heart race. GFR is 11.3

My eGFR is currently 21 and I take 12.5 mg of losartan, morning BP 113/83 but I take it mostly to slow down the protein leakage I have in my urine. Any higher dosage and it pushes my potassium level too high. I stay away from high potassium foods because of this.

If your doctor didn't start with smallest dose then work up from there...you will never know. After failed attempts by several general practitioners, and ,even stopping treatment because I felt like crap, a neph gave me 2.5 mg and that was all I needed for my bp/protein which by that time was 600.

My neph prescribed Losartan 12.5 mg and asked to see the effect in 15 days on creatinine and gfr. She said she wasn’t to increase gradually . She said that Losartan will raise creatinine a little but on the long run it will help the kidney. I have not take it yet, as I am busy figuring out other things like my diet and daily walking. I will eventually get to it.

I have a different CKD, but on 100mg of Losartan, so it might be normal. But your dr. Is the best person to talk to.

My neph say she wants my BP around 110/70...she says lower the better especially if spilling protein. But what they did do at Mayo was start me on lowest dose possible and go up. Other doctors prior did opposite. Turned out lowest dose worked fine. I'm on an ACE.
