With an eGFR of 89 you don't need any treatment for CKD. Start a plant based diet now, exercise, and try not to worry. If you dwell on something that may NEVER happen, like kidney failure, you'll make your life miserable. It's best to appreciate the good health you have.

Plenty of us here feel even worse than you do, to assume we don't is silly. I hate to complain but would you feel better if instead of posting cartoons like I do that I whined about having excruciating daily migraines, chronic nausea and diarrhea, horrible pains in every joint of my body from my autoimmune diseases, dizziness, insomnia, trouble seeing from my cataracts, trouble swallowing food from my esophageal dysmotility from my autoimmune disease, bone pain from a bone marrow cancer, nerve pain from peripheral neuropathy etc, etc, etc, my list could go on until your eyes would blur.

Honestly I don't come here to complain. I think most of us come here to seek information and helpful tips about diet and finding Drs.

If I want to complain on a bad day I'll reach out to a friend. For other major life issues I speak to a therapist weekly that I started talking to by phone about 10 years ago when I got my cancer diagnosis and was told I'd be lucky to live for 36 months.

Worrying doesn't help. It lowers your immune system and leaves you vulnerable to colds, flu, and covid. A lowered immune system from stress and depression can make you more susceptible to strong odors and other allergens, and other problems you're having.

Please consider what I've said. I only say this to help you with you cope with things, not to be hurtful.

I've tried to relay this to you in previous posts, as have others. I hate to see your remarks being ignored but I have to stop dealing with other people stressing over minor things.

I wish you the best in your health journey.

I’m talking about CKD symptoms. Just wondering about those. Main ones are fatigue, concentration and finding food I can tolerate.

Have you been diagnosed with CKD? With an eGFR like that, it's hard to see how that can be. As for symptoms, why would you suppose they are related to kidneys - symptoms wouldn't be expected to start at near maximum level of kidney function, which is where you're at.

I made a mistake. 89 was 2 years ago when I first noticed something about my blood work. Creatinine was ok. But I noticed a decrease in urine and small groups of foam in my urine but urine test showed no protein. I guess I shouldn’t have gone back in time. Sorry for the confusion.

Have you talked to a doctor about the decrease in urine and the small groups of foam? I have been having the same after a kidney infection (plus bilateral kidney pain) but no doctors have given me any answers. They only look at the ct scan, blood and urine tests and say your kidneys are ok. I think that if one drinks the same as before but the quantity of urine is clearly and constantly lower this may be a sign that the kidneys don't function as well as before and it is something that should be looked into.

Okay. So what's your eGFR now?

You seem to be going a bit overboard with worry, supposing you have CKD when there doesn't appear to be a reason for that (self) diagnosis.

You've a lot of worried posts too - worry seems to be the thing to be worrying about more than anything else. As in: why are you so worried at high kidney function when so many with low kidney function aren't worrying nearly so much as you.

Worry at that level is, I can only imagine, damaging to your health

Have you tried this forum, I think you'll get some good support there.

I’m talking about physical symptoms. What are the physical symptoms of kidney disease?

Ask your Nephrologist if you have one.

Depression and anxiety can cause symptoms which feel physical but aren't. Depression, anxiety, and panic attacks can cause fatigue, hair loss, insomnia and many other physical manifestations which you've described in your posts.

Your questions should be addressed by a physician who can tell the difference and knows your history.

Honestly I am beginning to find it insulting to those with real life threatening health issues for you to be asking about problems that you don't even have yet like asking about dialysis and Stage 5 then saying your eGFR is 89.

Plus you ask the same questions over and over and expecting different or better answers.

I am sick. So sick I don’t even feel like leaving my house.

You can't use your phone? You can post here so there no reason you can't have a telephone or remote session with a Neph. IF your PCP thinks you need one.

Has your Dr. ever mentioned Somatoform Disorder to you? It's very real physical problems but not the same as having a disease.

Hope this reply is not coming thru twice. Your anxiety seems to be getting the best of you. You're reporting all kinds of physical symptoms but anxiety and panic seem to he driving these issues. Severe anxiety can be very unreasonable and painful and needs to be treated. Would you consider finding a counselor to help you with this? Please do and let us know how things are going. Sending positive thoughts...

I was at 8GFR for three weeks or so then went up gradually to now 27 and frankly apart from tiredness at time no symptoms at all. So at 89 its hard to imagine why you think you have CKD as function does go up and down a bit and decreases naturally with age. I suggest you ask for blood tests to eliminate other possible causes like Celiac, Thyroid or Rhumatoid or even a virus. But honestly I were you I'd cheer you've got a good GFR.

Posting a question to this forum must help you a bit, but its a lot to ask of strangers with CKD. Nobody is sure what your real story is. You've got your answer: hair loss and insomnia and distortions of smell and taste and appetite and feeling wildly terrible are not symptoms of CKD, but seem more like anxiety to people here. Anxiety is a very real and important problem to deal with. Take it head-on! Deep breaths!
