I am new here and just starting to read alot of posts. I am lost when reading posts as to what alot of the abbreviations mean. Is there a page here that tells what the abbreviations means and any info on it if possible?

Not sure what abbreviations you are speaking about but I can help you with those that refer to lab tests. I use the website labtestsonline.org

Go to tests and you can search for a specific test abbreviation and enter that and get a full explanation of what it means and what the test(s) indicate.

In another post you made I suggested you register for a free, 90-minute Kidney Smart class in your area. You will receive a lot of information on CKD and be given a book with a lot of resource information that will further assist you in understanding what you are dealing with.

I highly recommend the Kidney Smart class also. It provides a wealth of information and the opportunity for some one on one Q&A. In addition they follow up with you via phone and help you find additional resources.

I often run across different abbreviations that I do not know the meaning of. When that happens, I copy and paste the abbreviation in google and find the meaning there. I have found that to be very helpful.

Yes, I do what both of the others have suggested. In fact, I had not heard of the IC condition you mentioned in one of your earlier posts so I needed to google that to get at least a small idea of what that condition entails..,

IC is short term for Interstitial Cystitis. In case you wonder what it is... I don't get ulcers in my stomach, I get them in my bladder. That is why I cannot have any citrus or spices. I have a very bland diet. I think that is what caused me to overdo salt. Kept thinking I was safe cause my blood pressure was always perfect by my PCP. Guess again I am taking it as.

My husband also told me today to start looking at Google Search. It has helped. Especially on what certain words mean and the abbreviation.

Guess we are all on the same boat at this time. (Big Smile)
