Long story,cut short.

"flu" 1979,followed by psoriasis, finding life a bit much and putting on weight.Around 1990 started getting arthritis and problems with my feet. I believe I now have Morton's neuromas in both feet and bunions as well as O.arthritis.In 2002 gave up work due to pain, referred to rheumatology, three years trying meds, couldn't tolerate them so dismissed with no further help. Underactive thyroid, believe I have Hashimoto's as I have nodules. I had my gallbladder out two years ago and have pain in the right side of my liver. Bloods and scan can find nothing. My GP just shrugs his shoulders

Why! Where do I go from here?? I'm so fed up,I feel I have been moved from one dept. to another with no results. I'm so depressed about my health that even writing this is bringing me to tears.

I do not think I would know what to do either, as you obviously have complications, and these issues that affect more than one speciality are very frustrating.

I think I might just try writing out the timeline of your medical problems, a bit like you have done above, and then list the problems that cause you most trouble (eg is it the pain?). Then ask your GP if you can have a review / second opinion from the department that seems to be the one that is the closest specialism. Sometimes a fresh mind from a new doctor can help put things straight for you. It may be that one of them might be improved, and that would be some progress. It is good news that the blood tests did not indicate problems.

I suppose that the worst that they may say is that what you are suffering is as good as it is going to get for you, and if this is a realistic assessment, then you may be able to come to terms with it in due course.
