I have spinal stenosis L3-L4. Spondyliothesis with damaged disc at that location. Stenosis severe to moderate severe at spinal channel as well at that area neuroforminal openings there also, mostly due to compression from the slide of L3 on L4.

Tomorrow is my 3rd and last consult. 2 neurosurgeon and a neurologist so far. they want to try PT first as my current clinical presentation better than what scans show.

Had 1st PT appt. said I had weak core muscles, weaker on left side, very tight calf muscles and my left foot points somewhat outwards when I walk.

Yeah, I had a slipped disc (spondyliothesis) at L-4/L-5 from a work accident in 2002. The Workman's Comp surgeon did a fusion there. 6 years later I went to a different spinal surgeon and had a complete lumbar reconstruction. I had 3 discs replaced and the fusion was taken out and 2 vertical rods were put in attached to 12 screws in my vertebra from T-12/S1. I just recently had x-rays and CT's done of my entire spinal column. Spinal stenosis at every lumbar section now. I still have back pain and I now refuse to take pain meds. The hardest part was withdrawing from the pain meds after all those years.

JUst been diagnosed with sponilolysthesis after an 11 month wait and surgeon refused to do anything because I can't have an MRI. Just sent me back to a pain clinic. I've tried 5 useless clinics over the past 20 years. How long did recovery from your surgery take? He refused to even discuss it with me. It sounds as if yours wasn't very successful

Hi there, Just Jules hereYes, my surgery was years ago October 2010 and still have the same pain but get good days sometimes and take advantage.

I had rods in from below my neck to near my tailbone if i remember right. The rods were taken out again i think 8 months later.

Enjoy your good days (hoping you at least get there)

Kindest

Jules

I had a laminectomyand full discectomy L4-L5. I now have a rod and screws. I was warned that the problem will spread......and they were right!I have stenoses down most of my spine now, along with osteophytes.

The next most painful for me is the the L4-L5 problem has now moved up and down. L3-L4 and L5-S1-S2. Stenoses and disc compression also at C3-C6.

I've tried all the meds, even cbd oil.

I can't get morphine here, it quite literally is reserved for terminal illnesses (cancer), so I just have to suffer. Surgeons won't touch me any more.

Any advice welcome.

I was just reading your post. My orthopedic said I need to see a surgeon. I did and he says I need a laminectomy and fusion on L4-L5. I’m scared to have it. If I do physical therapy and ride a bike the pain seems to subside some. I hope you are doing better.

I haven't.But I have lower lumbar spinal stenosis.

This year, I had the 3 infections then the radial block and radial ablation.

I now have less high level pain but pain in lower back when standing, weak legs, pain and coldness in feet and toes.

I am 78yo male and lying down most of the day.

Anyone with similar problems?

If you have seen a orthopedic surgeon, what was outcome?
