First Midwife Appointment

I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow and I just was wondering what to expect at this appointment?

They run through all the important health information for yourself and Dad. Make appointments for your 12 week scan and take samples ie blood xx

From mine I remember having to answer lots of health questions, do a urine sample and they also took blood and checked my blood pressure. I think they weighed me as well. It was a long appointment with lots of paperwork to go through!

Run through all your details, urine sample, bloods, blood pressure, weigh.

It’s usually an hour long, they get your past medical history, family history of relevant medical conditions, any past pregnancies you’ve had, info about this pregnancy then they will give you info on all the scans and routine screening in pregnancy. You’ll have bloods taken either there or they’ll send you somewhere else to have them done. And then explain ongoing care. And give you a bounty pack lol, which isn’t that exciting.
