If they aren’t safe for sleeping then why are they called sleepy head!

I’ve read so many good reviews. Would you recommend and how did you or do you use them?

Thanks

:-)

So yes I would recommend! I was told by the health visitor that baby couldn’t sleep in it but guess what she did!! We used it during the day for naps and then at night in her Chicco Next2Me Dreams crib. I stopped using it about a month ago only because she got too long for it! I think they are worth the money! We actually got ours discounted at the baby show xx

I would recommend! HV told me she could sleep in it during the day with supervision but not night times as wasn’t safe...my little girl sleeps in it at night and everything has been fine! If you read sleepy head website it says it’s safe. I would use for any other children I may have x

The reason health visitors and midwives don't recommend them is because they don't comply with the safe sleep guidance to reduce the risk of SIDS. This might help explain why madeformums.com/baby/are-ba... I think you have to make your own decision and go with the level of risk you are comfortable with.

This chart shows the reduction in cot deaths over the last 30 years. It’s dramatic and it’s down to better advice from mw/hv, particularly around back sleeping, but also co-sleeping and bumpers goo.gl/images/UgJVPu . Whilst most will be absolutely fine (we all survived being put to sleep on our tummies) it does increase risk. It’s up to you whether to accept the risk. Hv has your baby’s best interest at heart

People say that they’re great, and helped with sleeping. I wasn’t comfortable getting one (just like I wasn’t comfortable using cot bumper) because of the risk of SIDS. Now loads of people still use bumpers or use the sleepyheads and their babies are beautiful and healthy. It only increases the risk by a small amount so if you’re comfortable with it that’s fine. It’s something you’ve got to weigh the pros and cons yourself :) we ended up cosleeping some nights... and yes my baby is fine, he is happy and healthy. cosleeping isn’t recommend due to safety concerns but when you haven’t slept much and are breastfeeding sometimes it just happens. The safest place for baby is an empty cot in the same room as you. But even that doesn’t completely diminish the risk it just greatly reduces it. Do what you think is best for you and baby :) xx

I used one for my son until he got too long for it, before I used it I did research and there has not been any deaths relating to genuine sleepyheads only cheaper alternatives. So I decided to try it and he slept so much better and loved it. He’s 6 months now and sleeps in a big cot comfortably without one xx
