Congratulations! Lucky for me I didn't suffer with sickness but I have heard others say that the term 'morning' sickness is very misleading!

I think it's pretty common to suffer at any time of day and or night.

As for the cramps this is pretty common too as long as no bleeding and the pain isn't severe.

I'm sure the other ladies on here will give you some tips for coping with the sickness. Good luck!

I don't want to alarm you, but if you suffer with constant sickness, aversion to the smell of food, of skin or just about any odour, nausea seemingly triggered by simple movement, sight, colour etc., can't hold down water, vitamins or any kind of food that is not completely tasteless and you are afraid to eat due to nausea, but at the same time feel sick due to hunger, and have also started to lose weight, you may have a case of hyperemesis gravidarum. I had it and it kicked in the week after conception and got gradually worse until I gave birth. I hope you have morning sickness, but if that's not the case, then seek medical help immediately and ask to be taken seriously. Don't worry about the baby, he/she won't be affected and hyperemesis pregnancies are highly viable. In my case, I only miscarried when I didn't have hyperemesis. Good luck!

I had nausea all day with my boys but was only actually sick in a morning just take your time getting out of bed drink and eat what you can.if it gets extremely bad get yourself to gp xx and the tummy cramps are probably everything settling down but if become painful or bleeding give epau a call xxxgood luck and congratulations!

First of all congratulations x. Second, I had constant nausea up until about 14 weeks but wasnt actually sick. I found it helped to eat little snacks like dried or fresh fruit and toast every couple of hours. And fizzy water also helped. Like others have said if th crampy feelings become more like a pain or u start bleeding then contact your epu. Our local unit was lovely and reassuring on the occasion I had to contact them.

Congratulations! Yes, morning sickness can definitely last all day and can be absolutely horrible. I found it best to eat small amounts regularly. But it's a good sign that your pregnancy hormones are doing their thing!

Hi, agree with oanac that you have to keep an eye on your condition in case it is hyperemesis gravidarum. The good news is that you can get support from Pregnancy Sickness Support, a charity that helps women with severe pregnancy sickness pregnancysicknesssupport.or... and also check out pregnancysicknesssos.co.uk. You don't have to just suffer it, despite what people, even doctors and midwives will tell you. There are lots of treatments which are safe to take in early pregnancy and I don't mean ginger and eating little and often. It helps if your partner or relatives will support you in getting treatment, because it can be a struggle if your doctor is poorly educated. PSS have an online forum on their website for women with severe sickness which is a good place to ask questions. Although pregnancy sickness is associated with lower rates of miscarriage, it doesn't mean that you can't have a miscarriage if you have pregnancy sickness, so you might want to get your cramps checked out as well.
